NRL Round 2 - Knights Vs Dolphins - McDonald Jones Stadium - 8:00pm Thursday 13 March

Much better performance tonight. Our fowards were excellent and the attack was humming in the 1st half.
Plenty of class from Ponga, Gags, Best and Sharpe. Greggles had some issues with his handling but his carries were immense and I’m loving how often he’s looking for the offload especially with Sharpe hovering around the ruck.

Thought J Saf, Thompson and Friz were dominant in the first 20, totally outclassed and got on top of a pretty good Dolphins pack. Shootout to Phoenix and his line speed, looks like a torpedo coming off his line.

The last 10 minutes was almost the most impressive part. A man down and defending our line but we kept them out. Shows a lot about their attitude this season.

Some errors in the 2nd half but I can excuse them because of the gross *** humidity. I was sweating watching in the stands it would’ve been greasy as out there.

Not sure if they are related, but brett was co-owner of the gunyah hotel in belmont for many years. with brett hethrington (jacks dad). Made a small fortune when they sold it a few years back aswell.

Real good effort tonight. Ponga and Sharpe really dominated with the ball, but no one played badly, or even below average tonight. Defence was spot on, and only Katoa and Nikorima caused any problems, which was great considering Farnworth and Hammer are there as strike weapons

Less errors and penalties would be nice, but that’s nitpicking. Plenty of improvement to come I’m sure as combinations develop, so yeah good start to ‘25 and hopefully many more home wins to come. I think KPP should only be fined for his misdeed, and bring on next week.

Ponga has gone to another level.

There's not a player in the world I'd pick ahead of him.
I was a little nervous that we would be relying on Ponga too much (especially seeing him in that first receiver role for Māori). He’s traditionally less effective when we give it to him every play, it’s predictable. We had a bit of ball early on, and he wouldn’t have looked out of place with a 7 on his back, even his kicking game was impressive at times. He owned the attack tonight and it’s great to see him go down the right a bit as well. Definitely adds a new dimension to our play. He looks determined this year.

Thought Sharpe was great too. Lurking for offloads is exactly what we need. The chip and chase was very cheeky, but if it came off, he’d have that in his highlights reel for life (maybe….he's probably got many more highlight reel plays ahead of him).

It was also nice to see us icing our breaks. Elliot was away and retreating defence. I noticed maybe Cogger had everyone set up to go right. But Crossland showed good awareness to go left in that moment and we execute.

Overall I was pleased. Would’ve been great to put on some points in the second half, but can’t complain with us icing it.

We needed to start strong, or at least get results, and so far, so good.
Exciting to see where we can get to as we improve.

Youtube might be easier:

Wonderful answer by Obi and love that he specifically referenced Crawley's article about the "Red and Blue Army", with "I personally know the Red and Blue army, I speak to them every day" an educated F you to Fox that was! Loved it

Really really great answer and KP's too, I can't wait for Fox dumbass reply today. I said all wekk best response is for Knights and KP to just keep winning and to have a win we're we showed a new form of attack style that suit's not only KP and Sharpe but also the future is just delicious.

On top of all of that is the teams early season defence mentality. damn its sexy to watch. Shouldn't look too far ahead, but I really hope we aggressively take it to the Dogs in round 5!

I'd love the club to extend ponga for another 2-3 years, after we finish sorting next year's contracts our (1x FRF please)

It won't shut the media up, but will add to out club allure with those 2 huge players locked long term.

Yeah, a couple of times early on I as screaming at the tv for Ponga to not be the man in every play, particularly in their 20 but then he popped up with those assists so I shut myself up after that.

Really enjoying the extra dimensions in our style of play with Sharpe through the middle. I thought it even gave the Straightener more licence to get his running game on!

Two years ago we put 106points on them in 2 games, last year they got their revenge and Mahoney got under everyone’s skin, mine included. I’d very much like to see the dogturds go in the trash where they belong.
