NRL Round 1 - Knights Vs Cowboys - 1:15pm Sunday 1st March (AEDT) - Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas

Not long now, boys. I’ve got mixed emotions, but I can’t help feeling excited about our spine and the uncertainty around how we’ll play.
Will it blow up in our faces? How long do we give it if it doesn’t work?

Having Sandon at 7 and Dyl at 6 is obviously the safe option, but what we’re trying is hard not to get excited about. Could we end up looking like the Storm in attack? There’s a lot of pressure on Dyl, his track record at 7 hasn’t been great.

Still, I understand the need not to panic and to persist with him in the role the club wants him in long-term. We’ve paid the money for Dyl to do exactly that.

Anyway, let’s see how it unfolds over the next few weeks. I hope we prove the naysayers wrong.

Everyone has concerns and rightly so. We can look through rose coloured glasses but there’s more chance of us being average than good.

I have tipped us, as I had a look at the early draw and the first few games are more winnable till about round 4-5 when we play the dogs. Then it looks harder.
 
I actually think we can win this, and im getting more hyped for the season start.
Cowboys can definitely score points but they have some pretty shocking defence and if our spine can click then they are in some trouble
 
We were ****ing awful last year after the Warriors game, I think we can get all huffy about people doing us after that changes lol

They lost the best defensive hooker in the game and replaced him with maybe the worst so yeah I’m not expecting them to be Fort Knox through the middle.
 
The doggies defence was good in that trial. We didn’t have 4 key players, in KP, Sharpe, Gags and Mooney. But we all need to be prepared that we could look very disjointed in attack, not only this first game but few weeks, and legitimate question marks over our pack.
 
Cowboys will feel very confident after what they did to Penrith’s reserve grade side in the trials. That touch of overconfidence will bode well for us. Think we get the win in a high scoring contest: 30:26 or the likes. Ponga will be the difference.
 
What excites me is the Brown interview I watched last night with Matty. Brown said coach wants them playing what they see.

Makes a big change to the noose around their necks of the old coach. I don't recall a single player under old coach saying that. Just play what we see.

We are going to need to become an ad lib free flowing eyes up footy team if we are going to be successful.
