NRL General Recruitment and Retention

**** teams will always offer above market value when you think about it. Hell we probably did during the spoon years...who was paying an 18 year old Ponga 500-600k? lol

I think it should be something reworded to be like the minimum 'market value' someone can offer. That said...if Hudson Young's deal in the final of his deal is $1.1m because say the Raiders always have to offer more and they want to extend at about that much give or take then teams shouldn't be allowed to, say offer less then $900k.
The Chiefs should not be allowed to offer less then what the Raiders are. At all, for any player, tax free dollars, suck it up buttercups.

if we were to use the Bradman Best example. No one should be allowed to offer less then 700-750k.

Yep and young hookers in particular can be really hard to project. Honestly kudos to the Sharks for persisting with Blayke Brailey because he was honestly not good for a fair while. Now IMO he's pretty clearly the #2 hooker in the game.

That just tells you there aren't really many elite hookers in the game these days. Plenty of capable ones, and maybe some good ones. But it's a dire list. Probably why we were happy to have Crossland there. Like if they both were injured the week before an Origin game, who are we picking? *crickets
