Especially halves.
I'd love for him to leave the roosters.
POS has done such a great job re-signing our players in the current climate, before they go to market.
Hopefully he can get Saf, Dom, Best and Crokes sorted soon.

Getting our entire spine, a top-tier backup in Smith, and our best junior prospects in Hopwood/Hagan/Winter signed long-term prior to PNG officially entering and distorting the player market on November 1 - in the context of us getting the spoon in 2025 and undergoing a complete coaching staff overhaul in 2026 is almost unfathomable.
Genuinely build POS a statue, he is the GOAT of recruitment.

1.25M a year for Walker I wouldn’t say that is a “slap in the face”? If the cap is going up in 28, his manager might push for that amount for two years than ratchet once the cap goes up.

There are whispers the Bulldogs are having trouble reaching an agreement with Jacob Preston and he may go to market on Nov 1. It says a lot about the improvement in our roster management and front office that we have so far avoided the issues caused by PNG and the Bears in the player market.

Riccio just said on MMM they offered 1.4mil per year for 4 years but his management asked to put talks on hold till post season.

Just got a pay rise to go to Perth.
Horsborough is an inconsistent penalty puller who seems to be a magnet for drama...Although I'd like us to pick up a prop who can bend the line, perhaps Saulo after his nth injury setback. But IDK if Horsborough would have been good for us.
I'm happy for the Bears though; they are desperate to raise the quality/depth of that team. And maybe Mal can do something with the bloke. Although Ricky (like him or loathe...I've had a couple of brief chats with Ricky and he's actually a friendly, humble sort of guy) has a history of turning discards into quality players (as Knights fans unfortunately know too well), and he couldn't fix Horsborough.

Panthers reach extension agreements with Casey McLean and Isaiah Papali'i
"Penrith forward Isaiah Papali'i has agreed to a contract extension with the Panthers, both parties have reached an agreement to remain at Penrith beyond the expiry of his existing contract at the end of 2027. The length of the extension is yet to be confirmed, while the Panthers have not formally announced the agreement."
Penrith have also moved to further secure the future of rising star Casey McLean, agreeing to terms on an upgrade to his existing contract. ESPN understands the improved deal has been agreed to by both parties, with McLean already contracted to the Panthers through the end of 2028. Sources have also indicated that a further extension could be on the cards.

Not to say he's not a good player with huge potential, but if the Tigers pay that, they're cooked.
Looks like he's aiming for Chiefs money. These blokes the Chiefs are signing may well make them competitive in their first season, maybe even finals if they're lucky with injury...but I'd bet year 2 is where the wheels will come off.

Cheifs are effectively playing with 47% more cap space. There's no firm reason why they cant win the comp in their first season, in theory they should have the best roster in the NRL, despite being challenged with pulling together such a squad with only 18 months lead-in time.Samuela Fainu is asking for $1.2m as season...lol.

The only thing stopping them from walking through everyone would be the quality of the head coach, team cohesion, morale on the ground and whether they can put together a quality spine alongside rep standard forwards and backs

Even with their tax concession advantages, if they add Manu on the about $800K which is rumoured, the Chiefs are approaching 40% of the cap already allocated with 7 players on the books. They do have an advantage in a sense but they've splashed said advantage in pursuit of headlines. Let's see what names are on their top 30 list once they get past their first dozen or so signings before we freak out.
