Newcastle backrower Clint Newton has been sent for scans on a possible fractured eye socket, placing him in doubt for Friday night's NSW City v Country Origin rugby league match in Dubbo.

Newton, named on Country's interchange bench, was injured in Sunday's 32-30 NRL win over Brisbane in Newcastle.

X-rays cleared him of any major structural damage around the eye but Country's medical officials wanted the injury further assessed before clearing him to play.

The rest of the Country team was given the all clear at Monday's medical checks, with Penrith hooker Luke Priddis overcoming the corked thigh he suffered in Saturday night's loss to North Queensland.

hmm ud think not, however, i read somewhere that he was having scans to clear him of serious injury, and then when the country team doctor saw the results, he ruled him out...but that could mean anything...
and i dont know how bad fractured eye sockets or whatever else are so ill just say my 2 cents worth and move on lol
 
I wanna know what happened to David Seage as well! Was it my imagination, or was he carried off the field in agony?!
 
yeah i noticed that! i think i read somewhere that it was just cramp. i thought it looked a bit worse than that though.
 
I think hes knee jolted and after wat he has gone through he prob jus niggled it and it ached, or possiby cramp i dunno!!!
 
Newton might play, you can play with a fractured eye socket but if it gets worse you could have to have an operation. Seage is a bit of a croc, he's shocking with injuries. I hope Kurt plays fullback. And if Riley Brown is still in the side i might cry.
 
:-k Riley Brown is awesome!!! lol hes a good player I feel and hes try wen he stepped civonoceva basically won it for us, Seage is jus unlucky, Carney for PL, hes jus crap atm and hes not fast either though he is starting to blend with Matt Gidley. Brad Tighe BHB Bring him Back!!!
 
Today in the newcastle herald they said newton was seeing a specialist this week to determine how long he would be out but the knights medical staff hoped it would only be 1 week. Seage had major cramping and should be ok.
Other injurys were craig smith hip and adam woolnough groin but both should be ok with rest and physio.
Joey is not training till thursday. in his own words "i'm doin bugger all this week".
Daniel Abraham played awesome in pl and can only be a week to 2 weeks away from first grade
