New coach 2024

Going off wikipedia he has been involved in pathways and coaching for men and women with the Cowboys and other Townsville/QLD teams in general since 2015 so there's a clear connection to Parr.

Whoever it is, we need to sort it out and get them started soon.
The country open age team should already be in training if their comp starts in less than 2 months - same with Tarsha Gale.
Talking of Tarsha Gale, isn't it crazy that both Evie Jones and Jesse Southwell are both 18 and could technically play Tarsha Gale.
We could have the incumbent NSW under 19s and open age halfbacks teaming up in a junior side.

Knights announce Ben Jeffries as the new NRLW coach on a 3-year deal. Starts work on January 15.

He'll be integral to the Pathways and development with his history in that area. Treat our Queens well coach! Uncle Rob is watching :P

First interview.
Says he will spend time around the under 17s and 19s till pre-season starts in June.
Says Hannah Southwell is coaching the under 17s. I'd imagine a lot of the senior girls will help with that, so they may prove a very strong side.
Says the roster is pretty full, but he may look for an outside back to replace Jasmin Strange.

He says to his knowledge there’s 23 players signed currently + 2 development players. By my calculations:

1. Abigail Roache
2. Caitlan Johnston
3. Evie Jones
4. Felila Kia
5. Georgia Roche
6. Hannah Southwell
7. Jacinta Carter
8. Jayde Herdegen
9. Jesse Southwell
10. Jules Kirkpatrick
11. Kayla Romaniuk
12. Laishon Albert-Jones
13. Nita Maynard
14. Olivia Higgins
15. Rima Butler
16. Simone Karpani
17. Shanice Parker
18. Sheridan Gallagher
19. Tamerah Leati
20. Tamika Upton
21. Tayla Predebon
22. Yasmin Clydsdale
23. Viena Tinao
24. -

Development
25. Lilly-Ann White
26. Leah Ollerton

Bolded players aren't confirmed but seem to be sure things. Another winger is definitely needed, only 4 true outside backs signed as it stands.

China Polata still not signed at the Cowboys. A girl that plays wing and prop and seems to have a similar skillset to Sheridan Gallagher is I think what we should be looking for.

Biggest part of the interview was hearing Hannah Southwell will coach our Lisa Fiaola Cup team. Just perfect path for her to eventually become an assistant coach and then coach of the NRLW team. Nothing more exciting then being coached by the Captain of the two time premiers. Imagine few of the girls like Tamika, Jessie and Yasmine will join in too.

So the Titans site says their u17 and u19s girls are playing the Knights at Coffs on Sat.
They usually play the Knights boys on the same day every year but I can't find any mention of that happening.

Hopefully we get some news around the squads. Can't be far until they announce the teams for Pathways squads on Knights site. Comp is only 2 weeks away.

There is trials at Coffs tomorrow for Andrew Johns/Laurie Daley teams

They also played last weekend at Windale and both teams got wins.

I know Windale have a second division side, but I can't think of a football ground there.
I suppose there must be one somewhere.

Junior and seniors play on ovals that are behind where the Bunnings/homemakers centre is at Windale/Gateshead

Think there might be 2 or 3 ovals down there

Only unofficial results I can find are the under 17s girls lost 4-22 and under 17 boys won 20-0.

So in the middle of the 4 boys junior games at Cessnock on Saturday at 12.20 there is a game set down "Women's Development Game".
No sides are listed, but since it follows the games between Newcastle and Maitland District Knights V Northern Tigers (upper Hunter), I'd say it's a game where Jefferies will get a chance to see his potential NSW cup players in action - Upper Hunter v Lower Hunter - just a guess.

Article on Ian Bourke that says he is finishing up as coach of Lakes at the end of this season and the article assumes he won't continue as assistant for NRLW - but there is no quote that says he will leave NRLW. He says Lakes has the best woman's programme in the area.

It says he works fulltime as a miner on night shift.
