Nathan Brown discussion

What? If Brown gets sacked he gets an agreed payout that was agreed upon prior.

Sorry, I thought the principal idea of the rolling contract was to perform and stay, or not perform and go (like anyone would in a position outside of sport). It would be interesting to know how much this payout is to see what the price of Browns self respect is?

The idea of the contract is right but I am sure they mentioned there was an agreed payout price if he was terminated at any point at short notice. I think that’s fair and I understand if people disagree with it.

What do most people get when they are laid off or made redundant? I reckon about 6 months salary at the least. But that’s purely a guess.
I guess if Brown did not get a big upgrade based off previous results whatever the payout I imagine would not be big.
And certainly less then paying out a coach who was contracted for another year or two or whatever.

Depending on years in service. I’ve always thought 1 month per year with a cap at say 9-12 months. Tax concessions too.

I’m off the Brown bandwagon. I’m done. He’s got the squad he’s wanted for 3 years and it’s going further downhill and back to 2016 Knights.

We are garbage.

I wouldn’t say he’s got the team he wants yet. Definitely still a few players that would struggle to make a top four team.

But he has a decent team that should be performing better than what they are.

They still might come good but I would have no problem if they sacked him now. Except maybe for the problem of who would replace him.

Having said that I would have thought Ricky Stuart would have been sacked ages ago but it looks like he is coming good.

Depends on service but it’s usually the Fair Work Act minimum (which caps at 12 weeks’ pay after 10 years’ service), unless the contract states more. Brown wouldn’t get redundancy pay because his position won’t be redundant, he’ll simply be replaced.

Sacking him now I guess would be Wests drawing a line in the sand and saying they wont stand for mediocrity any longer.

Whoever is going to be the incoming coach, needs to know results are expected.

Brown was big on the Melbourne system, well they expect results, he isn't delivering them to the level the squad he has should be.

People are suggesting that Michael Hagan should come in. 3rd times a charm aye? ☹️
Michael Hagan's big fault was roster management. He showed with Newcastle, Parra and Qld that he can win games and even comps when he has the cattle, so if we could convince him to do the rest of the year, we might get to see what this squad can do.
just don't let him do the recruiting.

Think if we get rid of Brown we will end up promoting within until 2020 so might as well stay as is till season end with warning issued, no improvement no stay.

Apparently we are a hot topic on NRL 360 tonight. How Buzz Rothfield has any inside goss from our camp is beyond me but anyway.

He has none, everything that he has reported on has been completely wrong like the Klemmer deal etc.
Therefore we all just need to ignore it because that’s probably what the club does.

I stop reading anything from Foxsports that has his and Kent’s name attached to it and since print media is dying they are scurrying to these shows they are affiliated with.
Then people will continue to tune out that too once they realise how horribly politically biased it is and by then hopefully Buzz is too old and has the common decency to retire.
