Yeah, he's still getting another 250,000 or so from Souths. I am sure he signed for a huge contract like 300k, didn't he?
He does deserve it though, because he was playing on a (rugby league player's) pittance of about 50,000 at Penrith for all those years.

Eels made a good signing...300k and they are only payn 50k
Similar to Ryan O'Hara's contract with Wests when he won the grand final in 2005, Canberra were still paying most of his money.

Yeah they give them a payout so they still have the money and that also allows then 2 sign another contract much cheaper

Only the $50 000 will come out of Parramatta salary cap and I think that is wouldn't come out of souths either but i'm not sure. If it did they would have just keeped him

who would be sponsoring him though. not for that bllody much. The whole reason Souths got rid of him was 2 make room so there must be at least some if not of that amount that doesn't count towards the cap. Sometimes I think even the people who run the NRL doesn't understand the cap
