Mamo & Feeney

Mamo really isn't doing himself any favours. In 3 games with the top squad this year (trial & 2 NRL games) he's had 3 shockers. He looked fairly safe & did a good job for us in 2015, in comparison to what he's doing now anyway, everything in his game is mistakes galore at the moment. Brown will get rid of him in no time. At this stage I'd play him as a backup fullback only, the more space in attack & kick defence suits him. Not a whole lot of room to run & catch balls on the wing, so you need to rely on your physicality more, physicality is not Mamo's strength at all.

Mamo MIGHT one day be a solid first grade winger but he will never make it as a fullback. He doesn't have enough strings to his bow.
He's struggling big time with his hands on the wing as it is.

Critics said the same thing about a guy named kurt gidley too. Look where he got. Give the guy a chance not just 10 games or so.

The hype around Mamo has mainly been because of his speed. I've never seen anything to get excited about other than he's a real trier.

I'm really starting to think Nick Meany is our best hope for fullback.
This is his first year at the Knights, from Ballina, where he won 2 senior premierships at age 16 and 17.
He has the same sort of speed as Mamo, but is 4 inches taller. He is only 82kg, but he will bulk up a lot over the next few years. He probably didn't do serious gym work till this year.
In the early rounds of NYC the 18 year old was real rocks and diamonds, and lucky to get the fullback spot over Soper-Lawler I thought, but I watched him yesterday and he is safe as houses at the back now, and a great attacking weapon as well.
If we can bulk him up by 8-10kg by next year, he already looks to have better skills than Mamo or Feeney - just needs some size and strength.

So can Feeney!
Cant see either becoming regular first graders at our club so wouldnt be much better at any other clubs.
The facts show that nsw cup is way below nrl standard yet so is Q cup.. so SL is where they belong. Both above either cup grades but below nrl.
