Lisa Fiaola Cup and Tarsha Gale Cup 2026

Interesting that Brandy Simpson is on the bench in 17 after the bye.
She is a tall girl who runs strong.
Maybe they are going to see how she goes in the forwards?
Seems a strange move since she is scoring most of our tries on the wing, but she certainly has the size, strength and speed to go well at second row.

Knights 18 - 0 Raiders at halftime in LF cup
  • Arliah Morris 2'
  • Arliah Morris 14'
  • Arliah Morris 21'
  • Ella Louise Tighe 28'
4 identical wingers tries - 3 on the left - long pass from 7 Pike to right winger - 1 on the left - long pass from 6 O'Callaghan to left winger

26 - 0 early in the second half - 6 tries - only one conversion from the sideline so far.

Northern Tigers won the country Lisa Fiaola cup grandfinal (upper Hunter side)
There are 3 unbeaten sides in the city comp and we are 3rd on for and against, but the other 2 unbeaten sides play each other next week, so we should finish 2nd if we beat the bears.
We are even a slight chance to finish first, but would need to beat the Bears by 60 or so for that to happen.

Knights up 20 - 0 at halftime in LF cup.
With Parra winning by a big margin in the other game, it looks like we'll need to score about 50 in the second half to have any chance at the minor premiership, but we will be unbeaten and finish second to also unbeaten Parra. (assuming Norths can't pull off a miracle.)

won LF 34 - 4
Unbeaten, but in second place.
Apparently we needed to win by 66 to take the minor premiership, which would be nearly impossible in a 60 minute game.

Knights up 30 - 6 at halftime in TG.
They need this win to lock up 6th place and potentially move to 5th if Penrith lose tomorrow.
Brandy Simpson was named at 17 last week and didn't get on the field.
This week she is having her first game in the forwards and replacing Australian schoolgirls captain Stella Lewis in the second row, and we seem to have lost nothing. She ran for about 60 metres in her first 2 runs and had a try assist on her second run.
Our defence is brutal.
Norths are only 1 point behind us on the table, but they are getting monstered.

62 - 6 in Tarsha Gale - and the Norths try looked like a no try to me.

Addie Hagan kicked 9 from 11

  • Rubie Drake-Brockman 1'
  • Summer Dowell 8'
  • Macey Cox 17'
  • Tameika Dorahy 20'
  • Tameika Dorahy 23'
  • Shikynah Pearson 32'
  • Millah Hutchins 42'
  • Tameika Dorahy 46'
  • Lacey Cross 50'
  • Addie Hagan 55'
  • Charley Lahmert 58'
Easily their best performance for the year.
They have just sneaked into the finals, but hitting form at the right time, and 6 team final series are very unfair for the top 2, so you see sides win from 6th all the time.

Tarsha Gale Knights V Steelers is about to kick off.
Knights have Lilly Porter and Stella Lewis back - two of our best forwards.

Knights 6 - 0 Steelers
Wind is playing havoc with both sides.
Knights seem to be handling it a bit better.
Lacey Cross - second rower - dived full length from dummy half and put the ball on the line with an outstretched arm.

12 - 0

Summer Dowell turned the clock back and busted through a few tackles and ran 50 to score under the posts

She did that all the time in LF cup a few years ago.

18 - 0

Hooker Charley Lamert just decided to run right into the Steelers forwards from 15 out and the little hooker just barged through to score under the posts.

24 - 0 after 19 minutes
Summer Dowell palmed off a few defenders and ran in a try in the corner.
Addie Hagan converts from the sideline in the wind.

30 - 0 at halftime.
I reckon the Steelers only completed about 2 sets.
Probably about 75% possession to the Knights who only had 2 or 3 errors all half.
  • Lacey Cross 7'
  • Summer Dowell 10'
  • Charley Lahmert 14'
  • Summer Dowell 18'
  • Emily McArthur 21'
Addie Hagan kicked 5 from 5. 4 from pretty much in front, but one super goal from the sideline in very strong winds.
