Leo Thompson discussion

You always get players pulling out of end of season rep games due to wanting to have surgery for niggling injuries - or just needing a rest.
If everyone was fit and keen, Leo would be an outside chance, but I can't see everyone being available.

Definitely going through the motions now and very ordinary last night.

Already conceding he will be a lot better next year in a new system under Ciraldo.
Agree. It’s one thing to improve under new coaching but another just to phone it in because you can’t BF/dont care/don’t want to be there/got nothing to play for.

He had been checked out all year since agreeing to go to the dogs. Has had one good game after being called out for putting cue in rack in herald and then back to average He will improve next year but so he should becuse he is not playing like a 250k player at the moment. Probably a nice bloke off the footy field, but it says a bit about him as a player when you just phone it in like he has been.

I’m glad he is going and definitely happy we didn’t get into a bidding war.

I can understand the desire to just go through the motions and get paid because he’s got one foot out the door and is disgruntled with the club.
What I can’t understand is him following through with it and doing it to his team mates. It wasn’t those guys that screwed him around. It’s pretty disappointing to see him do it to his mates.

Maybe he thinks he will play like a $300k player this season, then up the ante at the Dogs, and play like a $850k player?
Who knows?
If that’s the case it shows his character.

Honestly he has phoned it in though I think anyone with eyes can see that so if I was AOB I’d be telling him to train by himself and stop picking him, not like we have to play him and we won’t make finals even if we start winning so.

All true, but there are always 2 sides to every story.
While I agree he isn’t bending his back in attack, I watched him closely at the ground last night and he defended fairly well.
Maybe we should be questioning the character of the Knights administration who screwed him over for the last 2 years(while he was amongst our best forwards), and promising him an upgrade which never came.
Just imagine that happening in our workplace?
No, I am convinced there is a bit of “poor character” on both sides of the ledger.
He will definitely be a better player at the Dogs next season, unfortunately for us.

Brailey is out the door but he knocked out 68 tackles in 80 minutes, which I don't think is a club record, but it would be an all time top 5 for the club I imagine.
I think Chris Randall got the record in that draw against Penrith a few years ago. Was 73 or something he made in that game
