Mckinnon can not take any credit for flegg, ball and mathews squads which are pretty much already sorted.

Only need to look at socials to see. Just because he has played the game before doesnt mean he knows what talent is. Seeing a couple of videos of kids rather than doing the proper research, talking to the right people. Super keen to see how much playing time the players he has signed get this season.
 
Errr when McKinnon was doing scouting before he travelled all across NSW watching pretty much every kid in our system. As mentioned, learning off POS and I'm pretty sure he bounced scouting philosophies off Craig Bellamy too. I'm sure he learned a thing or two off of Wayne being good mates with him.

Whether that actually translates we'll see.

They are sorted because he extended and found majority of them. Adam Doyle did the original signings for a lot of them when they came through A.Johns squads and Matts, 3 years ago. Any extention to the likes of Mulhering, Butler, Rostron, McKay twins, Gow, Townsend, Bishop has been done either exclusively by McKinnon or he's gotten Sully involved as some of them ended up involving NRL contracts down the line. majority of those boys + some played Flegg this year and will play more next year.

So yeah McKinnon and Andrew Ryan this year at least have done an awesome job putting those squads together. Considering all bar 1 made finals/GF's

When you cast a net out to thousands of players but only see social media posts of 2 or 3, hit rate percentages arent that great. He seems to have enough love from ppl in here. Not a bad thing tho to have someone challenge the debate.
 
How does a player agent go as a clubs head of football? Is he still an owner in that management firm like Anasta is, and therefore profiting off players he signs to the club?

Seems like a good get if he was the manager of those Knights players but the conflicts of interest in this sport seem farcical at times
