Knights Injury and Suspension Updates

It’s more missing to very high profile spine players. We need them for points because we have a weaker forward pack. Yes it’s up to our pack to stand up to them. But if we had two of the form players in the whole NRL then we could beat them.

I hope the media recognise this, like they did for Souths last year. Still ****s me the media never acknowledged our injuries and just said we were a **** side.

For sure, in the AOB era, you'd be putting the line through the Knights, but premierships aren't built without coping with adversity. Hopefully, this is just an opportunity for the coach & squad to build on the resilience the team showed yesterday. And if they start to build on that, who knows where it could take us over the next few seasons.

Fellas really? Smith and Sharpe both play well as 6/7 Hunt is good at fullback. Our middles have done well smashing Manly when media wrote them off. We are looking stronger than we have in years with our best two players out. We have depth and when we win 2 or 3 games of the next 4 we will be in a great position. Top four this year.

I know I don’t have the greatest memory, but has there been a year where the knights haven’t had an injury to one of their key spine players for a lengthy period of time.

6-8 weeks for Ponga and 4 for Brown. Sharpe will be back for Rd 3 against the Warriors.
Jesus that sucks, KP was looking so good too, as was Brown but at least he’s only 4 weeks. Hopefully, Kp is closer to 6 weeks than 8

We don’t even have a bye until round 12 either so that doesn’t help.

Yeah I'd be more worried if we'd lost 2 middle forwards tbh.
Sharpe straight back in at FB, throw Gamblor or someone in at 6 and we'll still score points.

The good news with Phoenix or Gamblor in the halves is that "engage line, give ball to dynamic fullback" shouldn't exactly be a stretch for them at this point.

Also continue to be a real believer in Sandon as a long term first grade halfback, no he didn't do everything right in the second half but for a guy put into the position suddenly where he had to balance being both the most dynamic spine player still out there and also having to take over as game manager, I don't think we could ask for much more.

Wareiors here, at the moment our Halves have Luke Metcalf, Te Maire Martin, Chanel Harris Tavita, and Jye Linnane on the injured list. The positive is that Tanah Boyd has been brilliant, his Cup form has translated into FG. I suspect that CNK will be 6 on D and Tuaupiki 6 on attack. That is just my thinking

Gamble did hobble off holding his hamstring so the "or someone" part becomes a worry. Only other specialist half available is Matthew Hunter who's young and not ready. Think putting Crossland there and trusting him to just shovel the ball along and boot it out of our own end is the best option with Graham and Arthur both putting their best foot forward to do a job in his usual place. As mentioned the Warriors are in a similar position with their halves.

Biggest concern is that they crater in confidence without the big dogs there. If they keep backing themselves like they have been then there's still points in the team. Think Smith and Sharpe can go a long way to helping in that regard, neither lack confidence.
