Knights Injury and Suspension Updates

It's gotta be Hunt/Best/Tuala/Lee for our current best backline anyway, hasn't it? And then To'a as first reserve. Don't think Shibasaki gets near unless there's injuries.
I would have thought Lee/Best/Hunt/To’a.

Like thinking of Tuala as the first reserve outside back a lot more, not his biggest fan personally.

It's such a shame that To'a got injured in the first game.
He was supposed to have trained the house down in the off season and we got to see half a game of him at his best.

He looked like the shoulder was more okay against the Dragons. Just wasn’t a great game for him to show what he can do with all the injuries to the spine.

I think we’ve got a real handy replacement for Lee in Starford. Brings a little bit more x-factor, is as much as a damaging ball runner as Lee, goes alright in defence and finishes tries just as well if not better. A little bit more experience won’t hurt, but I think he’s developing into a fine player for us.

Starford I think is a year or two away from really hitting his straps, which is exciting because he already goes pretty well. I think he may have played more fullback than winger coming through the grades too so he’s still learning his craft as a specialist winger. With his build, pace and strength, I think he’ll develop into a guy who gives you at least 12-15 tries every season, averages 150+ running metres, and will produce a clean break out of nothing a few times a year.

Defensively I think he’s still definitely a work in progress, although he’s very safe under the high ball and better aerially in attack than you’d think given his height. Definitely a keeper, a guy we’ll hopefully have for a good while.

Sounds like Fitz, Lee, Hoy and Hunt are all some chance next week, and Dom Young and Hodgson are not very far away either.
No mention of Chris Randall or Crossland.

Getting very conspiracy mindset about the fact they’re not even talking about him. I think he should be back this week if not the next yet no mention even though he has a similar amount of experience and (in theory) a similar standing to Tex Hoy...

They can't afford for Crossland to get injured again.
If Green or Mann go down, he is literally our only option.

Cupples says of Hodgson in that clip from yesterday that he will return to team training in the next 2-3 weeks and will play "shortly after that".
He also says Hodgson is changing his body shape and composition - which I assume means he is bulking up.
From the sound of it the club is taking their usual conservative approach with rehabing young players. The club seems to rather have young guys in the gym than on the field if there is any hint of injury. Guys like Best, To'a, Sasagi, Jones and Huth have missed a lot of footy with seemingly minor injuries. If Best strains an eyelash, that's a month on the sidelines.

This is what i currenty have

Tex Hoy (Hamstring, Round 8-9)
Lachlan Fitzgibbon (Shoulder, Round 8-9)
Hymel Hunt (Hamstring, Round 8-9)
Edrick Lee (Foot, Round 8-9)

Dom Young (Knee, Round 10-12)

Bailey Hodgson (Knee, Round 12-14)

Mitchell Pearce (Pec, Round 14-16)

Chris Randall (Dislocated Wrist, Indefinite)
Jirah Momoisea (Achilles, Indefinite)

Hodgson still has a very “young” body. Doesn’t look a day older than 18. Looks as small as KP did in 2016.

I like the conservative injury management approach with the young players. Blokes don’t tend to really grow into their bodies a lot of the time till they’re about 21, and one thing which can **** up careers is pushing these kids too hard too young.
