Jackson Hastings

I think the comments in him being “abrasive” is petty players who can’t handle the truth. Tigers are heavily underperforming organisation and if he says what he sees then players need to harden up like he’s trying to get them too.

Same will be here. He’ll probably out a few noses out of joint here, however everyone is aware how entitled a lot of them seem to be. It’s about time they get a rocket up they’re arse.

Hastings has won competitions regardless of it was Super League. It’s more than any1 has won here. So he is well within his rights to get lazy entitled players to earn the respect of fans after years of disappointment.

You could see through tigers fans how much they appreciated him as a person and player. Cause he cares for who he plays for, buys in completely. Lots of players could learn from that.
 
We need players here that are going to lead by example and not settle for watching others coast. We need players that will tell their team mates to lift their efforts.

If that is Hastings and that rubs some snowflake players the wrong way so be it.

It's the way forward.

People talk of how Joey wasn't afraid to give a player a spray on field, and likely off it for getting it wrong, if Hastings has that attitude then great!
 
So if 1.6mil for 3 years is true. If I do my math correctly, that is $533K a year. That seems like a pretty good deal to me.
I've been watching a bit of him on youtube with the Guru chatting about footy stuff. He seems like a good dude on there, and you get a good insight into his personality. I reckon he has a bit of Larikin in him too.

Completely agree with a couple of the comments, I hope definitely he sends a rocket up some entitled asses. Shows he cares and wants to win.
When you talk about club culture, leaders, and respect in the jersey we have been lacking that. And god forbid, I'm sticking up for AOB, but I'm assuming that is what he's been trying to bring to the club. If he has the support of players like Hastings, that will hopefully rub off on the whole playing group.

Ponga is a great, elite player, but he's not that guy to lead at this stage of his career. If things change for the better, I wouldn't be surprised if they give Hastings the C or VC, with Brails.

I completely agree with Hastings being one to lead the change in club culture. I would also add Elliott to that as well. Both are very competitive and will hold other players accountable in my opinion. We may have fallen into Hastings, but i think he is exactly what we need.

The main player that needs to buy into the culture change is Ponga. He is the key for how successful our season will be. If he just drifts like the last couple of years, nothing will change because the other players will take the path of least resistance, the easy option. If Ponga buys in the rest of the squad will follow and we will have a good year.
 
Agree with the thoughts about about having someone who can lead & direct the team, keep players accountable, set standards, etc and Hastings may bring that in spades to the club. Hopefully does!

I think the comments with him rubbing team mates and others the wrong way aren’t really from them being upset after receiving a spray which they deserved or for Jackson’s relentless drive for excellence at training but more so around the other less desired personality traits

He posted this morning a screenshot from a tigers fan bagging him out and telling him he hopes he injures (breaks a leg again) himself because he came to the knights. Good on him for making an example of the idiot and hopefully we make him feel welcome and wanted after being in such a toxic environment/fan base.

If he comes here and plays with half the ability his father Horrie played at the Roosters, we will be on a good thing to climb up the ladder in 2023.

We did In the end get the right one, which Is quite clear by the Tigers fans reaction all round, does anyone here seriously think that Brooks Is going to unlock another level even with Sheens as the coach?

He was never going to be the 7 we needed and that pissed off Tigers fan knows It, hence his reaction.

Guy deserves to be publicly shamed but you can't paint an entire fanbase as toxic because of one guy. Every club has a toxic fanbase then. And let's not pretend that this club hasn't been a toxic environment for decades.
