HVN cup 2026

20 - 14
Another try right in the corner
Addie Hagan hasn't got the distance - they should give it to Charlie Lahmert.
4 to go

won 20 - 14 with the weakest team we'll have all season due to 5 or 6 of our best being unavailable.

Both sides are 1-17 as named.

Knights are 2-0 against 1 top 5 side and a mid table side.

Mounties are 0-2 against 2 mid table sides.

With the under 19s SOO girls back in, we now have 8 of the tarsha Gale side starting today. 5/8, halfback, hooker and 3 starting forwards, centre and 1 on the bench.

Mounties have completely dominated the first half.

Knights have only had a few sets in the Mounties half and no opportunities to score.
They have defended at least 10 sets on their line.

0 - 16 at halftime

Knights are out on their feet after defending all half nearly - let in a few soft tries in the last 3 minutes of the half.

16 - 18 - 15 to go
Lahmert made a big break to get us to 10 out and a quick play the ball saw Mcarthur stopped an inch short, and another quick play the Ball and Giampino crashes over again.

22 - 18 - clock says times up but there might be as much as 5 minutes to go

Lucy Spain dummies and runs and scores herself.

won
Incredible effort from Charlie Lahmert.
She looked exhausted at the end of the game, but everything good we did came from Charlie running time after time from dummy half and splitting the defence wide open.
Stella Lewis had run after run as well.
Grace Giampino was unstoppable near the line.
We were dead and buried at halftime - it was just a matter of how many they were going to beat us by.

Absolutely incredible effort. Being down 16 at half time and absolutely buggered. Charlie was a freak in the 2nd half. Just kept splitting them from dummy half.

I don't know how Mounties have lost 3 games in a row.
I watched all the trials and games so far and Mounties were easily the best side we have played yet.
Their big forwards just didn't have the mobility to handle our tiny dummy half going all Emma Manzellmann on them. Apart from that, they were better than us across the park.

Stella Lewis did plenty of strong runs and plenty of good tackles, but I wonder if using her at prop, like they did in under 19s SOO, might be a good idea. She looks very athletic like a second row, but she is also tall and strong, so maybe she could be more useful for us at prop, with Summer Dowell moving from centre to second row. Main reason being Stella runs hard and dies with the ball a lot, so the Browns didn't get much ball.
