Harvey Norman NSW Cup 2025 Season comments

14 - 0
try to Carrisa Reid

Roosters just ran out of numbers as Knights spread the ball

14 - 0 at halftime

The rain has stopped and the Knights are throwing the ball around now and pretty much dominating field position.
Davis Welsh is playing halfback and going pretty well, but neither she nor 6 Keighley Simpson have much of a long kick, which would be useful in this game.

fulltime - won 20 -0
we go to the top of the table with a 16 point for and against gap to second placed sharks.
We play 3rd placed Saints next week - also on only 1 loss this year.

  • Joeli Morris 14'
  • Tyla Brown 20'
  • Carissa Reid 31'
  • Viena Tinao 53'

Top of the table and replay of last year's GF clash between Knights and Steelers starts at Knights COE in 30 minutes.
Knights have lost Tinao and Joeli Morris, but it looks like Steelers have lost a few key players as well.

Cronulla just won 18-12 over Souths, so whoever wins between Knights and Steelers will be equal first is Cronulla. If Cronulla had lost, we would be playing to see who would sit top of the table by themselves.

Knights 6 - 0 Steelers - Leah Ollerton dived over from dummy half
Steelers haven't touched the ball yet.
Knights took the ball from the kickoff, got a repeat set and scored.

10 - 6 after 25 minutes
Knights are well on top.
Steelers scored after ref got them field position finally.

10 - 10 at halftime

Knights were well on top for the first 20 minutes and Steelers for 15 after that.

16 - 10
80 metre runaway wingers try to Tyla Brown - too fast for everyone - scored under the posts.

22 - 10
Carrisa Reid scored a great try after several players made big runs to get us close. Carrisa beat 3 defenders from 10 out to finish off a great set.

28 - 10 - determined run by Leah Ollerton - scored under the posts with defenders all over her

28 - 10 - fulltime
Best game of Harvey Norman for the year - not just our best - best for the comp.
Both sides wouldn't look out of place against a few NRLW sides.
Leah Ollerton was our best. We were on fire during her first stint, went off the boil when she was replaced, and were back on top when she returned. She is a better hooker than Morris.

  • Leah Ollerton 2'
  • Fane Finau 14'
  • Tyla Brown 37'
  • Carissa Reid 53'
  • Leah Ollerton 60'
We play the Sharks next week - winner should take out the minor premiership.

Yeah that was an impressive performance. Ollerton looks to be back to her ability from last year, hopefully she gets a bench spot in NRLW next week as we needs her speed there and ball play. There is a few forwards in that team that really make an impressive impact when on the field, i'm not sure on there names yet, but great leg speed and power from them.

Evie still the best back up half by a long shot, but Keeley and Harvey doing good work with this team.

We didn't miss Tinao at all.
In fact, I think our young middles are as good or better. Paki and Drake-Brockman look better off the bench every week. Hard to leave them out next week. I don't know how old those 2 are, but Mcarthur is starting prop for Tinao at 18 years old.

It does seem like the program is in a great spot. Surely this is part of the pitch to Jesse. We are building the Panthers of the NRLW. Do you wanna stay here and be our Nathan Cleary, or do you want to go to Brisbane and be Tamika’s Robin?

Knights are 1 to 17 as named in the 1 v 2 clash against the sharks starting at 6.30
Jacinta Carter is in for the sharks.
