GRAND FINAL - NRLW KNIGHTS V NRLW EELS - 3.55 Sunday 2nd Oct - Accor Stadium, Sydney.

I took Oweysdaughter in for the celebrations last night as it is something she won't forget. She will be glad she was out of camera shot, but watching them get off the bus was probably the best bit. We proceeded up stairs for the on stage celebrations then the players mingled with well wishers for a couple of hours. The daughter got photos with all but one of yesterday's squad. They were so accommodating with her and all fans, having genuine chats and happy to relive the game, even in the midst of celebrations. I think she will remember that night for a long, long time.

That’s awesome. :)

I'll see them Wednesday and ill be sure to pass on all gratitude!
Thanks Dan…I’m up the coast but you can pass on my congratulations and best wishes to each and every one of the 27 player squad plus coaching staff- they epitomise the true spirit and passion of what the Newcastle Knights stand for and are champions, one and all.

Myself and my daughter are foundation members of the NRLW Knights and will continue to be members to support this team—-you have done yourselves, your team and your town proud …well done!😉

We're getting off-topic here (so apologies to everyone else here having to put up with WA chat!), but there are much worse places in Perth than Joondalup! It's okay, so long as you don't mind having to park at the shopping centre (because there's virtually no other parking in the whole suburb!) and aren't trying to run a Rugby League club there (unless you're 'the arts' or aussie rules, you're not particularly important to the local council).
There are much worse places to go (I know, I've lived in some!), but there are plenty of nicer places to go too.

But anyway, back on topic now.
They wouldn't do it, but how good would it be if there were some kind of dvd release of the NRLW GF? There may not be much of a want in years past for a Broncos or Roosters NRLW GF dvd, but surely a Hunter release of a few thousand would sell? Even if it was by order through the Knights shop / NRL online shop, ect?
Just a thought. I'm not going to pretend that I'd watch it as many times as I've watched the 1997 GF or even the '01 GF, but I'd watch it from time to time.
Maybe it's just me. I dunno!

For what it's worth, I was just reading that the game had record numbers of views on 9now, the on demand format for channel 9. I assume that was because it wasn't free to air in all markets.
I couldn't make sense of all the numbers, but they said the overall numbers were up 197% on the 2020 NRLW grandfinal, which was the last one to be on before the men's game.

Does anyone else have issues with the 9 now app? Half the time when an add comes on the sound ends up out of sync with the video it's shocking.

Haven’t really had those issues myself, but have noticed when it’s on TV that the apps broadcast is at least 30 seconds behind.

My only issue with the 9now app is that sometimes, despite no issue whatsoever with download speed, ect, is that I either have to wait a few minutes of the spinning circle before my chosen programme begins, or I have to close the app a couple of times for the show to play. Doesn't seem to happen with any of the other ones I use from time to time.

Article about Hannah Southwell giving the team a motivational speech before the first St George game.
Says they can't say what she said, but the G-rated version is "nice guys finish last".
Quotes Southwell as saying Johnston, Predebon and Upton are "absolute psychos" - in a good way I assume.
Says she wants to be back next season but will get offers from other clubs. Quotes her as saying she hopes we can build a dynasty and that the majority of players return next season.

Whoever put together this highlights reel for Jesse Southwell missed a trick.
Some of the clips they could have used from Tarsha Gale had me thinking "is that Joey out there". She was making tries happen for herself and others for fun in Tarsha Gale. It wasn't fair to play her against girls who were only 3 years older than her.
