Saulo doing a good job running straight and hard to close out the half.

Mooney was pretty disappointingly to my eye. I know he's the shiny new toy but Thompson would have got booed out of the joint for making 36 metres from 5 runs
 
Smith has been a mixed bag so far. One pass for a try, an intercept, 0/3 conversions, intercepted into a drop. Doesnt seem to have a big boot.

Sharpe has been solid at five eighth with one try assist but not a lot else.

I want to see them swap positions in the second half.

He has to play wing if everyone is fit.
I love Marz, but no side who is a consistent contender carries such a liability in their top 17.

Smith is having an off night, but I'd back him over KP in a kicking contest...fairly sure he was 82% at the Roosters. Which I think is not quiet as good as Ponga at his best, but better than Ponga is typically.

Thought Cant did well (except for dropping a hot chance) when he was on.

I think Cant has been good too. And ESL is exciting.
 
Cant could go either way.
His issue wasn’t intent last year, it was just a lack of strength and power to back it up. If he gets stronger (which is what you usually see in young forwards) then he could be a solid option
 
So far I’m liking Smith a few rusty things but that’s what pre season is for, the pass for Schiller I don’t see Sharpe ever trying, Sharpe is great and should be on the wing.

Mooney looks good and had a few half breaks at the start almost slicing a few, a few things he needs to work on but again it’s what pre season is for.

all in all I’m pretty happy

Stats don’t always show the full picture though. From what I saw most of his runs were inside the opposition 10 so naturally the numbers of meters made is gonna be less.
 
Would it be a step too far to get Greg to really work on his defence and get him off the bench in a back row rotation?
