FIFA World Cup 2026

Same again. Freeze frame makes that look like an awful challenge.

Real speed replay shows him in a tussle, off balance and trying to put his foot down. Comes down on an awkwardly landed Bosnian player.

As for parallels - there’s a freeze frame of Messi with his studs in somebodies calf. Nobody gave that a second look.
Agree, that wasn't a send off either

gee. VAR really playing god in these knockout games.

There should be a penalty every corner if we are calling that one.
Yeah, incredibly erratic decision making from the VAR teams. It does make me wonder whether the VAR teams from outside the big European leagues know how to use the system to improve decision making.

And as I type those words I think about all the times I have complained about CAR in the EPL.

Just get rid of it!

disappointing.

Feel like we are capable of some really good football. Whenever we go behind, we always play much better. Need the confidence to take games on.

Popovic too negative for mine. We keep setting up not to lose, defending deep and inviting pressure. Teams basically have uncontested ball and attack at will.

At our best, we would have beaten Egypt today if we kept playing. We lack a bit of squad depth, especially up front. We played most of that game with the intention of going to penalties and we flipped a coin and lost.

I’m pretty keen to see where a few of these guys end up post World Cup.

Overall, probably a par result for the World Cup campaign.

Have only seen parts of it, but seems like a very tepid display from Brazil, deserve to go out. 4 minutes to score 2 goals seems unlikely they score 1.

Edit: and then Norway give away a penalty; surely no time for the 2nd though.

Probably jinxing Mexico, but if this keeps up, England are going out, showing very little attacking intent...playing the way Australia did.

Edit: Oh no, have I jinxed Mexico. 2 in 2 minutes, some how the better team is down 2 goals. Wow.

While I'm here, QLD to win the Origin and Souths to beat the Knights...lol.

Edit 2: And back come Mexico ...what am I watching? 1-2

Norway played brilliantly this morning. Frustrated Brazil. Haaland second was impressive. Standing start. Bam.

That penalty was another example of extremely inconsistent refereeing. How often do we see that? Almost every challenge for a header. No problem if we are calling them. But consistency. Please.

Brazil acting like babies at the end made me very pleased they were exiting. Show some grace.

England going o try and defend this lead now and if they do, it won’t end well.

Mexico are on fire and adrenaline playing in Mexico City. This is gonna be a great second half.

Cracking morning of games.

That’s Norway and now Mexico this morning @Seano 😅😂

Goodluck with your other voodoo magic

What a game.

Looked like England were playing for a bore draw early, but five goals, including two goals in two minutes, two penalties and a send-off this game had everything.

Congrats to England. I didn't really care about US v Belgium before, but I kinda hope the US goes out tomorrow now, given that Trump will almost certainly say something sh!tty with the two other co-hosts out.
