English Recruits Watch

The English lads only want to go home when they're stuck in bumfk Canberra. A lad like KPP will froth the beaches and the celebrity associated with a small city like Newy. They won't go anywhere once they arrive.

Imagine leaving England and arriving in paradise during summer where all the shielas are trying to put you away 7 days a week. Our challenge is just getting them here.

Yeah KPP will be beating them off with a stick.

He will come over....it'll get too hard then he will go home on compassionate grounds? That kind of ego?

Yeah I mean I don’t know the kid personally but I wouldn’t be surprised at all if it doesn’t work out for him here. He had a really bad season this year at Huddersfield and the issues he has seem to be around discipline & application.

KPP is the exact opposite, gone from a very raw kid who made a lot of errors in his first season to a player who was *absolutely* stiffed to not be a starting back rower or centre in the World Cup over Whitehead/Watkins. Similar rapid progression to Dom. Very very high chance of his acquisition being called the signing of the season in 2024.

Signing both for two years yet signing lesser players for two or more years. Both young, reportedly future quality players, not 28+ and reserve graders

He looks like he'll handle the physicality ok at his current weight. Another 5kg maybe, but 10kg might dampen his athleticism?

I think Frizzell needs to play in the middle. His biggest strength is finding his front and getting quick play the balls.
When he plays on the edge.. he runs too much towards the sideline. No point getting quick play the balls on the sideline when the next play has to be a settler towards the middle.
I also don’t think he does enough with ball in hand to play on the edge anyways.

Frizell needs to put his ego aside and sit out when he is injured.
The guy played nearly every game with injuries that would have stopped 99% of players.
Madness.
He did us no favours by playing injured.
He did himself no favours by playing injured.
If we'd have got 10 games out of a fit Frizell in 2022 it would have been better than him running around busted for most of the season.

We had very little back row depth at times last year.. Fitz was injured, Johns was injured, brodie was playing one edge, we didn't really have anyone else.

A couple of articles on Pryce,

2024

1. Pryce
6. Ponga
7. Hastings
9. Brailey

On YouTube there are a variety of 'highlights' videos of Pryce. But I also found a 'best tries ESL' video for 2022. Of the 10 tries, 3 of them were Pryce, all 3 were completely ridiculous. And 2 of those tries weren't featured in any of the highlights videos I'd seen. And I've seen them all. I can only imagine all the things he's done that didn't amount to a try that aren't available on YouTube

He looks a ridiculous talent. I get that it's the ESL but some of the stuff he is doing at 20 years of age requires another level of talent. Elite talent. Physically robust and moves as well as anyone in the NRL. I don't think anyone really understands the sort of player we've signed. The club certainly isn't going to come out and say it. And everyone else seems happy to assume that the NRL will probably prove him to be just another ESL import who lacks the pedigree to make a real impact in the NRL. He is going to absolutely explode onto the scene.
