English Premier League thread

My beloved Newcastle United still unbeaten, still defying all the doom mongers in fourth place there:crazy:

It doesn't get any better :dancing: Awesome the way they've played to date, great win away at Stoke & now bring on Everton..... Third on the table after the win at Stoke, we play in the early game on Saturday, so a win there & the Toons are SECOND!!!! Haven't see that since the mid 90's & a small note Sunderland has to win or get a point at Old Trafford for that to happen, plus Chelsea can't have a big win away to Blackburn as well.....

Newcastle 2-1 over Everton :dancing:
Now second on the table, this is making up for being relagated a couple of seasons ago.........

We've got Man City, Man United, and Chelsea our next 3 games. If we can somehow get 3 or 4 points out of those three games, we'll be very well placed.

Few injuries starting to creep in for the Toon now but an internationa break to try and get them fit again! Bring on the big 3

Man City... 11 wins, 1 draw :O for a comp as elite as it is that is an amazing feat.

I disagree. There are only 6 teams capable of doing anything in this league and MC have only faced two of them; Tottenham who were not in the right place and MU who havent been convincing and who wouldnt have been flogged if they didnt give up for the last 15 minutes of that match. Sure, it's probably the highest quality football league in the world but the top 6 are miles ahead of the rest.

All that money had to pay off eventually...though if David Silva gets injured, I suspect they will hit a wall.

Also, if you look at the Champions League (the league featuring the best of the best), MC have lost twice, most recently this morning to Napoli (2-1) and they did not look themselves. When up against a real opposition, they have appeared to falter.

As a City supporter, I agree. But we did sent a statement when we smashed Spurs and United. When was the last time you can say United was beaten at Old Trafford? And for them to be smashed 6-1, enough said. Our real run will start in the couple if weeks when we face Liverpool and Chelsea.

As for Champions League... it was always going to be a tough ask considering we were in the hardest pool. But we were just so flat in this game. Just can't seem to handle the pressure of Europe's best. Just not at that level yet. Lessons learnt and we'll be better for it next year again.

PS. Does anyone play FIFA?

3-1 (what the score should have been if United didnt slack off) is still a solid, convincing win, especially when you look at how both teams played; United were awful.

I will give you that though; City are in the toughest pool. So some slack is given ;)

FIFA 11 on PS3?

Ahah, I was remember watching the draw live and I was spewing! But Napoli are an entertaining side.

Yep, FIFA11/12 on PS3.

Poor Torres. Three times you have played Liverpool since leaving for a "bigger club". Three times we've handed your arse to you on a plate.

I knew today was going to be a great day since i heard that both Manchester clubs didn't qualify for the knock-out stages of the UCL.
