Dragons fullback Darius Boyd considering snubbing Newcastle Knights and joining Gold Coast Titans

DARIUS Boyd is considering turning his back on Newcastle and Wayne Bennett with the star fullback being tempted by interest from the Titans.

Thought to be a done deal at the Knights, Sport Confidential can reveal Boyd is considering moving back to Queensland where he can be close to his family. Bennett wants to take his star player with him to Newcastle, but the deal is far from done.

Word from down Illawarra way is that Boyd has his heart set on going to the Gold Coast, although he hasn't worked up the courage to tell Bennett yet. The cashed up Titans have already snared Jamal Idris and are looking to inject youth into their ageing squad.

Boyd, arguably the best player in the competition at the moment, would be a huge addition to their squad. They will move heaven and earth to secure the prized signature of the ever improving player.

No quotes or any real sources, so i'm not believing a thing the DT spits out anymore ever since they said Bennett was a done deal to the Broncos.
 
I don't believe this at all, especially the bit about him not having the courage to tell Wayne he wants to go to the Titans... how ridiculous. It was only the other day the DT were saying he's agreed to terms with us and it'll be announced this week, they're hopeless and shouldn't be taken seriously by anyone.

Any chance they're hedging their bets on the salary cap increasing with the new TV deal to come through? Maybe back-loading contracts and dealing with the issue later?

You genuinely come across like you support another team & your just on here to spoil our riches. Despite your obvious bitterness the knights are winners & will be for a long time to come. You better get used to it

this is all bull**** boyd won't sign with newcastle he loves queensland to much and the knights halves Mullen/Henry Killed the opposition in the first 2 games i think they shouldnt sign Boyd we have a great backline anyway and if we did sign boyd then we will have to drop a couple of players to free up the salary cap i say leave the team the way it is and let bennett do the magic !!!!
