Dane Gagai

I mean, did he get owned by JAC? Making out like he missed one on one tackles or got run over lol. Mostly it was that entire Souths edge failing to number up, or JAC backing up after Benji waved his man straight through. I recall him making one poor read, but otherwise what’s he supposed to do, take out two players on his own? Run infield and make Benji’s tackle for him? “The winger scored, therefore it was the opposing winger’s fault” is NRL360-tier analysis.

If we sign Gagai then should be one year with our option for 2nd, make him play well for an extension. He could be played wing or centre but not sure we want or need him, look for younger player.
We have Mann, Schibs as well as Best for centre’s we need an upgrade with a few years left in him, we have plenty of backs just not enough quality

The Addo-Carr game is one example from an entire career of bad defensive performances. You can go through them one by one to blame everyone else but Dane if you'd like. It's probably just a coincidence that every edge he plays on is bad defensively.

Surely it would be a 2 year contract and we give him another year if he was playing well at the end of the contract.

The club has fallen in love with player options which have absolutely zero upside from the club's perspective.
The Broncos were also in love with them and look how that has turned out.
*cough*Isaac Moses*cough*

Would not be shocked to see a 3 year deal, or 2 with player option.

I love how lodge has told broncos if they want him gone they are to organise it or his there next 3 years comedy gold.

We have a culture of players going through the motions from the Bennett years and never fixed in the Brown years - although he did try to move them all on.
It isn't all down to Gagai - he had plenty of mates in those days - but to me he is the poster boy of players who were clearly doing just as much as they had to to keep picking up the paycheck - him or Beau Scott.

Could be a coincidence, could be a thing which isn’t actually true… who can say?

Gags enjoyed no care footy when he was here last time and only ever bothered really putting in when the maroon jumper went on.

Frustrated we fans last time and would do the same again. :brickwall:

Reeks of another Klemmer/Glasby signing coming here for a last payday.
