Dally M Rookie of the Year

does anyone know how this system works is it the whoever has the most dally M points. I can narrow it down to a few players

Cory Patterson
Luke Walsh
Isreal Falou (basically all his tries are from 5 metres out and no-one to beat so he shouldnt get it)
Isaac Luke
Josh Morris (i think its him)
Chris Lawrence (if he qualifies he played a couple last yr)

probably some others i forgot??
 
I think it is just whoever! Because going by the points last year, I am pretty sure Johns was the halfback of the year, but it went to Cronk.

Paterson would have to be very high on the list, you'd have to think!
 
Folau, Feleti Mateo if eligible.

Pato has a great chance and it would be awesome if he got it. It would do him a world of good. He is better than Clint Newton.

Clint Who? Thats right, I dont think weve lost much, Pato has been great!
 
I don't think that Patterson will go anywhere near winning the award. Its more awarded to attacking players if you have noticed. Thats y i think it will be Folau. He is scoring tries like there is no tommorrow and They love that. Luke may have been in with a chance but he got a bit of a late start.

Players don't qualify if they played any games last year so lawrence is out, like u said Den.

btw Johns didn't get more points then Cronk last year. Cronk got a higher score then Johns and thats why he got the award. Because of his suspention Joey lost points and missed out on gaining some coming into the final rounds. He only finished on 16 or something. The team is picked on the highest scoring players in each position.
 
Well there was certainly some player last year who didn't finish top in their position, but got the award ... on further inspection, Thurston and Orford were both well ahead of Cronk on points (20 vs 13). Civoniceva was also ahead of Asotasi for prop of the year but didn't win ... there may have been others.

I looked it up because the way I thought it was was obviously wrong and basically what happens with the team of the year, from what I could gather because it didn't actally say anywhere outright, is that they get the 4 (generally can be 3 or 5) best players in each positioin based on the votes, and then they pick the best and fairest from those. If a player gets supended at any point, regardless of their points they are ruled out of contention. Thats what I think happens from what I could find.
