From what I read the raiders offered him an extension last year, 2 years? His team said no thanks and he'd prefer to back himself this year for a better contract an it backfired and he got dumped to reserves.
But now Austin has said he doesn't mind taking a short term deal to prove himself which I think can work for the eels as his ball running would be a good fit for Moses offensively. A very average for defensively though
