Warriors here. I actually think you are under rating your guys. They are showing grit and the longer you are in the contest the more you factor in results.

For our guys it is a great season already. The biggest difference in our sided imo is Webster has stuck with a Halves combination. That has paid dividends. What is the issue with Hastinge?

Our young guys like Halasima, Vaumauga and Laban are showing our pathways set up is working as well as recruitment with JFH, Healey, Clarke and even Tanah Boyd who has not debuted yet but is going well in Cup. Anyway best wishes for the rest of the season guys.

I think we’d probably be in your position if we had Metcalf and CHT. Think you guys, as you alluded to, have really good balance now.

I know I don’t deserve ALL the credit, (maybe most), but Metcalf has really turned it on since I traded him out of my NRL Fantasy team after a slow start.

If our top 17 gets a string of games together - we might put together some performances. But without sounding like AOB, injuries and suspensions are ruling people out for a week or 2 here or there and we can’t seem to gain much in terms of consistency.

Our defence has been a positive this season. But doesn’t mean much if we can’t score.

Hastings is fulfilling the prophecy that he has a great impactful 18 months at a club before he wears thin for whatever reason. Few rumours or theories getting around. But as we’ve seen at previous clubs, he usually outstays his welcome. By some accounts on here, he’s doing some positive work with the cup younger players, but seemingly too little, too late and his Cup performances aren’t really ground breaking.

He’s playing badly at Cup level. Not putting his hand up for a spot in the NRL at all.

The Knights have made only one non-injury enforced change to the halves this year (dropping Cogger for Gamble), hard to stick with a combo when they keep dropping like flies

THANK YOU!! I truly hate that media on content folk don't look at the reason for changes this yr and even last yr. 90% of it was down to injury and form. Blows my freaking brains man.

Not directed at you @Watcher but just overall, especially media who are meant to understand the game

Although AOB brought the “he can’t stick to a halves combo” narrative on himself last year by making so many unforced changes (whether that was the right decision then or not is up for debate, I see it both ways), this year the halves changes have been completely forced due to injury. Our first choice are Sharpe and Gamble but Gamble started the year injured and then only came back for a few rounds before getting injured again. So we’ve run with Cogger and Sharpe the most but Sharpe’s also needed to go to FB a few times to cover Ponga being out.

There’s no doubt our attack would be a lot better if we just picked and sticked but the only halves pairing we could have run with this year and not had to chop and change them due to injury would have been Cogger and Hastings who are the worst combination as you saw on Saturday.

I’ve heard Joey say it multiple times, but yeah the whole media do.
