Brock Lamb suitors

Typical Kenny throwing out all these different opinions that cover all angles and then when one hits he will come back and say I told you so.

Lamb is a better player - check
Watson playing origin from the bench in future - check
Watson one of favourite players and picked before Lamb - check

That's just in a couple hours work. Can't be arsed trying to remember what other things you've said in regards to these 2 players and how they will fare this season.

I've been watching the new nazi documentary series on Netflix. Hitler would of loved you and all the propaganda you could of come up with for him mate.

The good thing about having ones opinion documented on a website is that the fallibility of human memory plays less of a role in general convo -- at least it should play less of a role

Just because you cant remember something doesnt mean it isnt conserved on this website from the day or days previous. And when I repeat my opinion you treat it as though i dont really mean it. Im not sure how to respond to that tbh.

My position hasnt changed from the start. Its clear and simple. 'Watson is a Gidley clone' remember that one, genius? Ive backed him from the start, I just dont prefer him over Lamb at 6. That's just my opinion, why does my opinion upset you so deeply that you have to pretend that its not really my opinion? Haha so weird bro

Even if I accept this characterisation -- you have to accept that it is perfectly congruent. There is nothing between the above statements that is mutually exclusive

Lamb and Watson have very different skillsets. It is perfectly acceptable that Watson is a better fuklback than Lamb. And yet, Lamb may be a more valuable half than Watson. What im saying isnt difficult to digest, you're just being a sook because my opinion is fair and it demonstrates that I like both players, which coincidentally doesnt leave you much room to attack me

Chill it out big fella

We will lose Cogger for 2019, if lose Lamb also we are thin in halves area, especially if Pearce has serious injury, could cover 5/8 if Johns and/or Pythian come on this year. No sign of young future star on horizon at this stage so concern about Lamb possibly signing with another club is understandable.
Pearce pushed Lamb out, Watson was promised starting 5/8 before Pearce arrived, the comparison between Watson and Lamb came about after Pearce was signed.
Lamb will likely leave to play 1sts at another club even if we offer slightly more unless he makes 1sts here and if that happens other than injury it will likely be as 5/8 which would then mean Watson will have to play elsewhere, bench or reserves. It's not a matter of a set against Watson but who over the next X amount of time comes out on top, something will have to give.

LEVR, how do you love Watson in the centres?

What’s that based off of?

Just an observation tbh. Looking at his skillset and how he appears to see the game infront of him, he is a very similar player to Gagai, and arguably a better defender. I honestly reckon he'd make a really good centre. Again very similar to Walker or Jennings

Exactly, we're absolutely screwed if Pearce goes down. The retention of Lamb is critical

Lamb is the best young half we have developed since Mullen, and Cogger is probably the second best, but we seem to have a production line of young halves at the moment. Guys like Crossland, Madden, Pezet, Buderus and Hoy to name just a few. A few years ago we had 5 of the 6 NSW halves reps from the 16s, 18s and 20s, and if Lamb hadn't been injured at the time we should have had 6 of 6.
Scott Dureau was never a good enough athlete for the NRL, but he was a very smart guy who developed all the skills while being coached by everyone from Alan Bell, Joey, Matty, Andrew Dunneman and several years under Trent Robinson, and now he and Rory Kostjaysyn are employed as fulltime coaches who concentrate on developing young halves.
I'll be unhappy to lose Lamb, but my feeling is that there are 5 or 6 more like him in the pipeline. If Brown really wants running halves, Tex Hoy and Jonah Pezet are the two he should be looking to tie up.
Just a few years ago we had Crossland and Madden named for NSW and they also picked Matt Smith, Will Smith's younger brother, for NSW squad from our bench. He was either on the bench playing a utility role, or playing fullback for us, because we couldn't get him a run in the halves.

Billy as you saying is we have the backup and I don't doubt that some of those mentioned can and will make it but unlikely that will happen for 2019 or even 2020, that is my worry.

The two halves from under 16s in 2014, who will turn 20 this year are currently training with the Raiders firstgrade squad (Brendan O'Hagan) and the Roosters firstgrade squad (Nick O'Meley).

If Lamb was fast and athletic, he would literally be the next Blues 6 or 7, I have no doubt of that.

Im not sure we can just find another one.. Good halves a once a decade products

I floated that idea earlier, I'd like to see him spend some time out wider to see how that goes. If he can read defense well, this could potentially be his best position.

Giving ball-playing centres a licence to roam can give the benefit of an extra playmaker in the line, kinda like the role of a fullback. I reckon this would play into Watson's strengths.

100% mate. Would love to see that. Watson roaming is Watson at his best imo

Watson would be a speed hump in the centres.

His like 80kg, in the middle he has help to bring down big runners... out wide he would be targeted like no tomorrow and all you lot would be asking why the f did we sign this guy.

How bout let the guy find his feet.

Agree. Until people have defended in the centres when you aren’t a big guy it’s a nightmare.
