Best Choice Backline

don't drop Vuna yet

leave the team the way it is(with doogs back in)

from where i was sitting a couple times vuna had his hand in the air with space in front of him waiting for the ball only for them keep going to the rh side...it was frustrating watching it sometimes

but thats just the fun of being a spectator

I also noticed this. Plenty of times he had space, and was signalling but they always kept going the other way, and when we did come to him, he then didnt have that space.

The only way the backline is going to improve is by making slight changes to get it right and ATM i think theres something wrong but cant quite put my finger on it. McManus and Naiquama have been outstanding on the right side so far this season and their combo shouldnt be changed.

I think Maddog should be a regular in the centres for the rest of this season just for the experience factor but in saying that i wouldnt mind doing what frizzed suggested and giving Vuna a run in the centres.

K4P be patient. Uate will get a run when BS thinks hes ready.

I agree with what you have said. It's not as if were losing as of yet and even if we do, it will depend on the margin and where they tries are scored for any changes to occur.

Players will get oppurtunities, you saw with Lulia.

I spotted uate a few years ago in lower grades...for the first two games this season i have been there for the first game, where uate has been dominate. He could play secondrower, only question is tackling and reading defence. His hitups are strong and his speed is unbelievable. He could (no question) play wing...but who for? Vuna is skilled and mcmanus is solid.....Bench spot maybe?

I'm not sure why we would want to replace one of our bench players for a winger, not to mention our bench players have been great keeping the intensity levels up in games for us.

The only change I would make to our backline at the moment would be either Lulia or Mad Pup for Mad Dog, because personally, I think either would be an upgrade over Mad Dog. Lulia's a much better defender IMO, and isn't bad with the ball in his hands either. As for Mad Pup, I've always liked him as a player for whatever reason. He's a decent defender, better then Mad Dog IMO, and is good in attack aswell, not to mention he has great speed. Both are much younger then Mad Dog aswell, and have much more potential obviously. I wouldn't drop McManus either. He's great in defence and is also great under the high ball, and even though he doesn't have blazing speed, he's a very good finisher IMO and is great running from dummy half aswell. I'd keep Vuna at left wing for the time being, as I think he can be a real asset in attack, though that left side defence is a little suspect and he seems to get caught out and struggles at times under the high ball, though as I said, for the time being, I'd keep him there. He's still very young and has a heap of potential IMO, and also has a heap of room for improvement aswell. I'd keep the halves the same aswell, obviously with Mullen at five-eight and Dureau at half, as they were very impressive together the other night against Manly IMO.

Yep I agree, the more regular game time Lulia gets the better it will be for him.

Just hoping its a dry tack to benefit Vuna and Lulia.

McManus is great out of dummy half and his finishing from close is outstanding, dropping him would be madness IMO. Moving him to the centres in place of mad dog and bringing Uate to the wing would be the only change Id accept.

Lulia missed a crutial tackle against the Eagles and generally didnt look greatly confident overall but I hope he has found his feet and imporoves against the Eels on Friday.
