Auckland Nines Discussion

I thought the Bris jersey was probably one of the best heading into the comp, but after seeing all the teams in action, I think it is just boring! I like the Warriors and us along with the Roosters, but Brisbane and Tigers and Sharks are just boring!

Can't find any official tables but our group so far goes with one win each:

1. Knights +8
2.Titans +3
3. Sharks -2
4. Tigers -4

So everyone in our pool has won a game. We're back in this, we can beat the Tigs tomorro and then the world haha

quinny I thought that each winning team got two points, one each for a draw, zero for a loss?

Thanks could not see them when I went on the site earlier. Tomorrow's games should be great to watch.

Dogs continue their averageness at the 9s. The way the Eels play really suits this format, big, fast, strong & powerful

- - - Updated - - -

To their credit, the Dogs are playing a bit more expansive this time & aren't looking as bog average as their first game.

Looks like the Eels will be the first team to win their opening 2 games !!

They lead 15-0 at halftime !!

I've seen Uate at the shops regularly over the last few weeks and he looks the fittest I've ever seen him. He's not carrying an extra ounce. Me on the other hand at 146kgs. Tetevano might be in for a decent year on what I've seen.

Eels are in again and they must be one of the favourites for this tournament now !!

They are leading 19-0 and looking great !!

Not convinced with the Eels yet. They are in by far the easiest group and played 2 teams who are really average.

Star North Queensland Cowboys recruit Lachlan Coote suffers suspected ACL tear

  • PETER BADEL
  • THE COURIER-MAIL
  • FEBRUARY 15, 2014 2:53PM

THE Cowboys face a nervous wait after star recruit Lachlan Coote suffered a suspected torn anterior cruciate ligament in their first game of the NRL Nines.

An off-season purchase from Penrith, Coote’s campaign was just seven minutes old when he hobbled off in North Queensland’s opening clash against the Sea Eagles.

Coote failed to return and was also seen nursing a nasty gash under his chin as the Cowboys slumped to a 17-8 loss at Auckland’s Eden Park.

The former Panther will undergo scans but it is feared he may have ruptured his ACL, which would require constructive surgery and almost certainly end his 2014 season.

Should scans confirm an ACL tear, it would be a crippling blow for the Cowboys, who have earmarked Coote as the man to replace retired fullback Matt Bowen.
