Agreement reached in principal to add WA-based Bears franchise to NRL in 2027

If the Bears hierarchy has a brain it will be Arthur.

Walters failed with a great roster, Mal has been soo long out of club coaching it would be too big a risk for mine.

Unfortunately, Arthur will be removed from our coaching prospects shortly.

Apparently Meninga is going to be announced as Bears coach
Probably the worst of the suggested ideas if it happens. But I guess they're not expected to hit the ground running like most new teams that get bought in so less pressure to succeed in the short term.

Prefer the idea of someone that's a long term coach similar to the way Cartwright started at the Titans, and he served a solid apprenticeship at the Roosters working with Cleary and under Ricky Stuart and Gus and Penrith before that.

The short term model is okay when you look at Bennett at the Dolphins working to start things off then get a 'head coach in waiting' but being in Perth maybe you want to get someone who wants to stick around in the area long term. Then Arthur comes to mind.

My guess is that Mal is there to be the face of the club. He has a lot of respect in the game and everyone knows who he is.
They'll get good assistants around him to do the coaching.

Hey Bears,
AOB has been to 4 GF's as an assistant.
Oy!
I live in Perth. Bears will be my 2nd team. Don't make me go from years of him at Newcastle to more years of him here too..!

That's just cruel..!

Norths red and black colours and jersey was always considered the best looking in the old days.
It's surprising no one tried to steal those colours.
