Aaron Woods

Would 100% take Napa over Woods. At least Napa has a mean streak and some ticker.

Don’t blame Sharks for only being prepared to pay half his $900K salary. $450K is all he’s worth, and he’d probably do well in Cronulla. $900K is and always was a laughable and ridiculous overpay by Dogs.

Des must be the most hated man ever to have anything to do with the dogs. He literally turned them into the most boring team then went silly on Mbye, Foran, Woods.

Surely a coach can’t have that much pull, as in someone should be able to tell him he’s not spending that type of money in those players.

They even got rid of graham to get Woods and are apparently paying more of Grahams wage than the Dragons are.
To top it off IMO Graham would be the better player for the team.

Yeah definitely, maybe Des started smoking crack or something.

I reckon we need both woods and napa.

Both have what we need. Napa the aggression and woods the meters and offloads.

Woods inst coming here anyway (it's getting embarrassing all these quality props rejecting us) so it's all hypotheoretical anyway.

Jack Bird went to the broncos because he wanted to win a premiership, same as Gaigaj. It doesn't always pan out

Bird would have been better off staying down there
Both those players left for the money no doubt about it. Plus Bird already has a premiership to his name.

How is he only worth $450,000 he is an Australian and SOO rep who has better stats this season than Campbell - Gillard who the current SOO Prop and Current Aussie Prop ...

Ethan every Club knows the woes Des left at the Dogs. Woods left the Tigers for a reported $1 million per season and now all Clubs will only want to offer him half that, or whatever it may have been, and shaft the Dogs.

IMO Woods is overrated and severely overpaid. To be fair, if he wasn’t regarded so highly I wouldn’t go out of my way to speak negatively about him. He would easily get $450K+ on the open market, I’m just not his biggest fan. Not compared to other top tier props. I wouldn’t spend big coin on him.

As for comparing him to RCG, I don’t care what the stats say, he’s not on his level. RCG has arguably been the in form prop over the past 12 months. Woods isn’t close to that IMO. Surprised at all his rep jumpers. Glad he’s not in the Blues team this year.

David Riccio saying on the Sunday footy show the Sharks and Woods expected to do a deal and they are just working on a few little things before the deal happens . Reckons he might even be running out for them in two weeks against the tigers

RCG is severely over rated now. Does his one or two big charges into the defensive line from restarts and that’s all you see from him. He is getting out enthused and out performed by Tamou of late but you wouldn’t hear any Panthers fans say that because RCG is the local product.

Its funny how a team like Bulldogs are over cap but then you look at the Sharks roster of players and then hear they making a play for Woods on top that. Des must have really done damage to their club before leaving.

Don't forget Mooney managed the Sharks roster before he came here so it's no surprise that they are in good shape.

In fact he comes across as a genius assembling a roster that can win a premiership from a wooden spoon in the space of two years despite the Sharks being a competitive team with solid first graders before Asada happened.

Their premiership means they lose guys like Bird and Barba but its not hard to shuffle players around their core group of guys.

It seems like no one at the Bulldogs questioned Des because they were making the finals every year and made two GFs. Even those years in my opinion their roster wasn't anything special and it made me question whether they just rose to the occasion and were in the right places at the right times or did opponents just faulter and were not ready
