2026 Season

I like Foz, already; he seems to have the management skills and intelligence to be a top coach, but throwing him in as the permanent full-time coach this close to the end of his playing career was always hit-and-hope. He's not the first player to do his coaching apprenticeship in first grade (Nathan Brown springs to mind); but historically it rarely ends well.
 
Yeah I dunno what you really want guys to do in that situation. If Dean doesn't tackle the bloke he runs the length. Didn't look very high risk to me. His body was on the ground not off it.
 
Whether it was a risky situation or not, rules have to be black and white; if he grabs the player in the air, it has to be a penalty. And that penalty has to be in place because of the potential for serious injury in aerial contests.

In this case, he doesn't actually grab the player (is playing at the ball).
 
Oh I see, my bad. Funny one that because they've gone back to hip drops being penalty-sufficient; let the judiciary sort it out, but suddenly that's bad enough for a sin bin? 🤷‍♂️

Edit: Sorry, not meaning to rehash the point; more talking about the change in policy seemed to be to move away from sin bins.

we are down to 6th thanks to the cows ****ting the bed. On the plus side, Manly losing means we are 4 pts clear of 9th and our position in the 8 is secure for at least another week.
 
Seems legit. Not sure about their spine, but they have plenty of talented young forwards. It will be interesting if the Dragons can get behind a coach; the Bears will be the unbackable favourites to win next season's spoon. So there will be some progress at least.

I enjoy a win against Manly any time but I think the best Manly coaches have been former players.
Also him having battled a few demons throughout his career and coming out on the other side…I don’t think it’s A bad move from him

I think the dragons will go close to making the 8 next season

They have recruited Drinkwater, Kolomatangi, Metcalf and Watson. Their spine is a 100 times better than this year and all their young forwards have had this year to develop, and they have one of the best forward packs going around next year, in my opinion

8 - Kolomatangi
9 - Liddle
10 - T couchman
11 - Egan
12 - Stewart
13 - R Couchman
14 - Watson
15 - Pasifika-Tina
16 - Halangahu

Great forward pack, if they can get a few strike players in their backline they should improve massively
