2026 Season

They are replacing him with George Williams, which is a very poor decision imo

Nikorima would be a good stop gap signing for a club that is bringing through a young 5/8, I’d imagine he gets picked up by someone
That seems completely nuts to me, especially since they’re going so well and Nikorima is a big part of that. They play better when he plays. It’s not like Williams is young either, so it really seems like a pointless signing

Not going to lie, I’m a bit worried about Niukore at the moment. At first I thought he was just taking his time coming back from injury but he still hasn’t looked impressive, you could argue that we won’t be using him as a second rower as he is coming to do the Frizell role as a rotation prop, but I still want to see a lot more.

Last night against the Sharks he played over 40+ minutes and yet only had 6 runs for a weak 41 metres, now another argument is he already has one foot out of the door and to that I say disgusting, I hope that’s not the case as it shows a lot about his character and it’s one I don’t want in this team.

If he doesn’t pick it up drastically I don’t see what he provides that Hola and Crouch couldn’t and it would just be a waste of money.

As of right now after watching Niukore closely I’d be re-signing Frizell to a 1 year deal with a mutual for a second year.

I was thinking the exact same thing watching Niukore play last night and a couple of earlier games where he was on the bench. I reframed from being critical as I thought there may be mitigating circumstances, but I really hope he has a bit more of a go when he comes here. In POS we trust.

Every mention of Nikora reminds of potentially missing out on Barnett. What’s done is done and I need to move on! But he could have been the difference we need up front. I really hope Hopwood comes in quickly.

Could one of McEwen or Manu play in the middle? To me they should be both in the 17. Maybe they interchange in the second row?

I think if we told Manu to start training for prop now and use the rest of this year and the off/pre season he might be ready by next year to be a bench prop might, since he is tough enough, explosive, great footwork and leg drive he could be another Frizell but he will need time to get used to it especially the defence with his stamina issues. Hopwood has looked good in the very short minutes they give him, it’s interesting because the more I watch Niukore play the more I think we might have screwed up on him.

Obviously POS is a great recruiter but he is still human and can get things wrong, I won’t say it’s a definite miss but it’s just not looking good

I will say we might need to start converting some second rowers anyway as it looks like we got lots coming through so maybe converting Manu into a Frizell clone might be a good plan if he can do it, certainly has the genetics to do it.

Yep, ESL another one of those guys? Lachlan Crouch is still only 23. I think Hola at 27 will just be a backup guy if needed. Mind you, I’m saying this not watching the reserve grade side play. Goes to show the importance of resigning JSaf, as I think he has 2 or 3 good years left. Front row seems like the only spot we might be lacking slightly compared to the top teams. Hopefully Trey Mooney keeps building, I can’t see why not. But if our starting front row get injured we need one of the other guys to step up. Need to sign Friz one more year also.

Zero tackle is not a serious outlet. After Benji shot down the Folau to Tigers rumour, they posted this article that lists the clubs that could make a play for the 37-year-old who hasn't played in the NRL for well over a decade… and they still included the Tigers at No. 2.

Although not as funny as the Dragons at No. 1, given the Dragons are trying to move on two busted, older veterans who are both younger than Folau AND still playing in the NRL.

I support independent media, but if clickbait is all they have to offer, maybe it's time to pack it up.
