2026 Recruitment And Retention

Yeah I see - what happens there though, is they drop him back but have to pay him out his contract or at least some of that. I heard it was a decent coin too. Frees up a top 30 spot but that money comes under our cap! Badly managed though - I saw some games last year and saw him come off injured every single time and seemed well out of touch.
Speaking of which Will Sullivan - another one who seemed to hit the ground and forget to run! Still a few I think were over ambitious signings.
Sullivan was going solid in Cup until he got 4 head knocks in about a months. Took 2 months or so from it too.

This kid is a footy player. $500K per season for four years is sneakily going to be one of the best contracts in the game calling it now. At full strength we have more players who can just make **** happen out of very little - Kalyn, Bradman, Fletcher, DylBro, DylLuc, Sandon, Dom, Dane, McEwen, even Trey Mooney kinda - than we've had in years. Excited to see what we can do next year.

Was just thinking very similar.
He is such a good buy at 500k for four year and is only 22.
To have our 6 & 7 sorted for four years at $1.8mil/pa, that's pretty good imo

Liam Henry won't fly under the radar he's played for Australia. His management will be seeking decent coin.

The real question is he planning on staying at Penrith because they could probably afford to keep him.

Ok, so my full thinking on Henry is this: the narrative around Penrith is that he, Lyndsay Smith and Scott Sorensen are off contract. Smith is their priority and that could force the other two out. Henry has has initial talks with the club but will test the open market. He is dynamic, great leg speed and very strong in the tackle. Leg speed is something I feel we sorely lack. He has basically been their Spencer Lenui replacement, all action off the bench. That's the type of forward you are getting. He's a prop who can play 13 or on an edge at a pinch, so i think he's an ideal replacement for Friz in our pack. And he'd probably be worth similar coin.
