2026 Recruitment And Retention

If your the starting prop on a side up by 5 Tries and you’ve taken the first hit up from kick off you would make 100m before hitting the D line without counting other plays, stats can be misleading

Leo isn’t a volume stats player. He’s, in theory, an enforcer. I suspect a lot of the meanness and impact will mysteriously return at his next club once his work rate is much lower. There’s no point in being mad about it. He’s gone, move on.

We do need a dynamic running middle, so Mooney may very well do better for us, but he does have issues with his game he’ll be ironing out with us in first grade. Hopefully he takes a leap once he hits about 50 games. ATM we don’t have a forward who can turn bad yardage sets into decent ones or decent ones into great ones with a great play 3 carry (besides Dylan Lucas), so a player like him was essential.

Also will need forwards putting shots on more often and that’s not been Trey’s game. If I was head coach, that’s the message I’d be giving to guys like Saulo, Crouch: the player who I suspect is going to cause the most problems for opposing ball carriers is the one who’ll get the most minutes.

I’m undecided about Leo. Just look at how JFH has been going this year without his partner in crime. JFH has been one of the worst signings this year. Leo might do better at the Bulldogs with the likes of Kikau and King in the pack.

With all due respect, you're out of your damn mind.

They were in 4th, 10-5 record, when they lost their halfback, coming into this year without Fonua-Blake, and it was mostly on the back of their ability to grind it out in defence. 13th the year before. Where do you think that huge upgrade in defence came from?

And Penrith basically lost their first half of this season because their defence went from the best in the comp to the worst. The worst! Took them months to fix things and it's still not as good as it was.

Coincidence?

Not from the Fish that’s for sure. Simpkin bumped him off from dummyhalf last week and he’s good for a simple drop ball. Just to confirm I wasn’t seeing things you only need to look at the Warriors forum calling him a massive dud.

Given he’s not on a huge amount of money he’d have to be horrendously bad to even come close to being the worst signing in a decade
Where is all this negativity coming from regarding the Trey Mooney signing.
Let’s just get him here and let him do his thing.
At times the negativity on this forum is really concerning, starting to look like Facebook.
Let’s get over 2025 and get positive about the new squad and coach.

Not a top 4 team but it’s night and day compared to what we just rolled out vs the eels.

I'm completely off Marzhew, other than his carries he's an absolute liability with his hands and under the high ball.

Either chuck him in the forwards or tell him to move on, sick of seeing him get out leaped by every winger.
Tend to agree. Strong carries are one thing but it can’t be the only thing! Drops the ball cold half the time too doing it. Didn’t score bugger all this year and let through about 2000.

If 2023 Marz decided to walk away there’d be tears all over, however he isn’t even a shadow of 2023 Marz.
Also I hate it when that happens.
