2026 Recruitment And Retention

I'm not really backing the Coach of Flegg Alan Moore to make the right calls. He has a talented squad and chooses his son at 9 when Hoad is 10 times the player and has now brought in Will Cannavo over Rory Whitby who has been one of our best Forwards in lower grades. Absolutely mind blown by it.
If this is true (I don’t catch as much junior footy as I used to) than the club needs to sack anyone giving special treatment if we are ever going to be a serious club.

I’d be happier for Brown to play his usual 6 when he arrives and find a 7 from what we have or might have coming through juniors. Even if Brown is good at 7 and Sharpe becomes a good 6 we will still need backup, Gamble and Cogger for 2026 then?

I believe 💯 there’s a bit of a boys club going on at the Tigers and Galvin is on the outside of that. Can you imagine how unbearable it would be to be on Benji and Luai’s bad side? I’m sure they stand in front of the mirror in their spare time just batting away.

The supporters are toxic as hell too. Any social media post is begging for him to be sacked immediately or relegated for the rest of his contract. Not an attractive trait for a club trying to build and lure talent really.

To be fair every fanbase wants a player relegated to NSW Cup or punted immediately when those fans find out the player is leaving.

I don't think so. For one, I don't think Leo has copped much since announcing he is going, and his efforts don't warrant condemnation. I think it is different for teams in a rebuild who are giving a young player plenty of time to develop in the top grade only to see them leave and set the club back when they are finally on the up. I don't think any Penrith fans were calling for FHarris or Luai to be dropped last year.

Overwhelmingly though? I’m not impressed with Leo leaving but at the same we need to field our best team now. Throwing it out the window because you are butthurt is just childish

Ridiculous how he is allowed to hold two power roles..... basically been saying we want you Galvin come here whilst on his channel 9 duties.
He gets leeway because of who he is I’m certain. Conflict of interest is enough to get most people removed from positions of power but not Mr Gould

Quality halves are few and far between right now.
Completely agree but why not go for young up coming talent around the 18-22 years range.

Realistically we should get rid of Cogger and Hastings at the end of the year and I’ve lost complete confidence in Sutton as he has yet to improve on the areas he needs to.

Look at other clubs other than the NRL, England, country sides, union sides.

I’m a massive advocate for Mikey Lewis to be fair I think his abilities can compliment our style as a 7, but even if people don’t like him we need to look wider for 7s.

There wouldnt be as much outrage with Leo as he really Is much of a game breaker In a sense. (His position Isn't as glamorous as a half)

Galvin and Brown however, completely understandable and as for the Panthers I just think they would have that next man up would fill In so they would not care as much as other fan bases.
