2026 Knights Coaching and Football Staff

Knights announce Brett White, Steven Hales & Danny Buderus as assistant coaches

Perfect! Time to get down to business

Titans defence questionable. Manlys attack questionable. Let’s see how we go.
Ive always liked Manly’s attack, to me I’ve always viewed them over the past few years as a team that when they get going they can put 20-40 on fast but at the same time they are horribly inconsistent.

Also he wont be the only one doing attack you'd imagine with Holbrook showing he has a incredible attacking mind.

Titans defence well, titans are weird and have been since they were brought in, kicked out, brought in etc, i wanna wait to judge him based on the Knights and not that rabble

Brett White was defence coach at the Raiders before that including the team that made the grand final.

Remains to be seen how it goes but it looks to me like Holbrook has been thoughtful in who he’s selected. Any idiot can tell the club to just try to poach Penrith and Melbourne assistants. And often Penrith/Melbourne end up bringing in assistants from other clubs to replace ones they’ve lost, by definition they end up bringing in guys with “bad” or “mixed” track records… because those guys weren’t assistants at Melbourne or Penrith lol.

I think Bedsy might give us 3 months of his best effort till the pre-season is over and all the new staff are settled in.

He has clearly been winding down his involvement in recent years, so I think his "I'm all in" quote is about him going fulltime for a limited period of time.

As I said, my guess is that he is going to work very hard to see our pre-season go well, and then either wind down his involvement or hand over to someone else.

What does an assistant coach going as hard as he can for a few months even look like?

“Winding down” is a polite way of saying he was quietly demoted from being GM of Football once playtime was over and actual administrators were brought in. He’s still been employed by the club full-time ever since as an ambassador, on-field trainer and whatever fake title they had for him working with the leadership group.

Year wasn't he our blue shirt trainer this year?
Is that not full-time?

Misread - not South African that was just his last job. Had jobs in the A-League & NBL prior to a few Super Rugby gigs.

To me the environment the players are in has a lot to do with their performances. If you look at how Crossland, KPP, Young and Brown have been playing in the Representative arena is way above what we saw during the year under AOB. Brown looks fantastic since leaving what was obviously an awkward situation at Parra. Lets hope the coaching staff can get the best out of what looks like a pretty decent spine and backline.

He comes across a level headed relaxed person in his interviews. Might change after a year or two!
If you watch his interviews from his EPL days he is missed over there and was always seen positively and friendly, a classy person but who knows.

Holbrook is apparently a fantastic person, and coach, hopefully he can make a great atmosphere
When we visited Knights headquarters last week, the counter staff said that Holbrook had met them individually and collectively and they all reported a very positive and focused environment. This is the first time I have heard this from the staff in a long time.
They say a change is as good as a holiday.
