2025 Wimbledon Championships

Nadal was literally like the ultimate grinder

Anyway anyone but Sinner to win for mine. Got away with two BS suspensions and should have initially been suspended up until now. His initial stories don’t fly with many people. Nor does his trainers ‘lack of knowledge’

Will never root for him

Yeah nads was a different type of grind though. He entertained with his tennis. Sinner should be tested on the reg now. Bit of a joke what his got away with if I'm honest.

We are definitely beyond a golden era of tennis with Fed, Nadz and Djokovic (and Murray sometimes).

A video of Jimmy Conor’s came up on my instagram feed the other day. I was amazed at his touch and skill to play the angles of the court.

I’m hoping Rune can get his stuff together. Still has time.
Another one that Sinner was lucky to beat at the AO with the net cord which gave him a break from the ailments he had that disappeared later.

Fonesca is pretty hyped up. Very impressive for his age. Still very raw. His family is one of the richest in Brazil, hedge fund baby, similar to Fritz’s loaded family. Had it easy growing up.
Learner Tien is still too flawed with his forehand and serve but can hit it with anyone. Again heaps young and plenty of time. He was beating guys well above his age when he was 13-14 touring the states in the lower tier events, just needs to continue getting matches against the big boys under his belt.

I watched Draper when he was in the 200s at Wimbledon in the early rounds, never looked overawed or spooked by big occasions. Has big weapons. Always expected him to rise up but top 5 was a bit of a surprise.

It’s pretty bleak for Aussie mens unless Popyrin does something. Too inconsistent but as we can see with his ceiling he seems to be more of a threat against the big guns (similar to Kyrgios when he was healthy) compared to someone like De Minaur who just runs into a buzz saw everytime and fades as the match goes on or just simply doesn’t have the weapons to compete.
Popyrin has the right weapons to play with anyone he just took a bit of time to mature when he was 18-19. I think he would have been ahead in his development and closer to the top 20-10 if Covid didn’t stop the season. You could see the potential back then

I dislike them all. Bring back fed ex, Nadal, Roddick, Monfils. Haha. Tennis has become such a grind now
Haha, Nadal did love the grind.

I don't mind who wins between the last two.

Federer was a rarity. To do that damage with a single backhand, and often perpendicular to the net.

Skill.

Barty was excellent. I have never seen such a variegated slice. Federer had an effective slice, too.

Alcaraz has those soft touches of death, a lot of the moves of Federer, and the ability to pull out a lot of power where required.

If he is on; he will be difficult to beat.
