At some point this season they pivoted the mental narrative to - this was a transition year, dumping D Saf left us short in the pack, etc etc etc. Because they have decided the start and finish of what went wrong was "not enough props", they therefore give outsized credit to JSaf and Leo simply because there were so many games where they had to do huge minutes.

AOB can't determine who wins on his own, which means Blake has totally bought into this narrative too, if there's a plurality of votes for JSaf and Leo.

This honestly feels like a refusal to acknowledge the real wrongdoing. An assumption that once they get Dylan, and they get better run with injury to the forwards, that Ponga, Brown & Sharpe plan where Ponga is basically a halfback/fullback absolutely will work...

Yeah. Anyone on the current coaching staff gotta go. Give me Holbrook and let him select his own assistants. We need an infusion of humility and common sense in the joint.

Yep telling themselves that the issues with the attack were simply “no go forward”. JSaf & Leo therefore given auto-points for just doing their job once they were in full on cope mode about how the year went.

They came back and brought the go forward and it all would have worked out if only Kalyn, Fletcher etc were fit at the right time! That’s what they took from the season, apparently.

Rather than noting that the attack only ‘worked’ when we were totally running downhill. That means it doesn’t work! The real stress test for if your attack is good enough is when a game is an even struggle or a back and forth thing where both sides get limited chances. Where creativity or executing the right plan under pressure comes in.

At a certain level of momentum literally anything a team does with the ball is going to work. They’ve learned completely the wrong lesson from the season and we are heading for another catastrophe if the thinking doesn’t change.
