2025-2026 Summer of Cricket

Only just under 5 and a half hours to go now!

I will be very proud today when Brendan Doggett becomes our third male indigenous test player.

It is amazing to think that after nearly 148 years of test cricket, we have only had 3 indigenous male test cricketers.

It’s surprising and disappointing when you consider the rich legacy of indigenous players in the NRL and AFL.

Every test played at optus the side who bats first has won. Be interesting to see if stokes will continue with his philosophy of bowling first should he win the toss.

Boland has been disappointing, he has been unable to settle into a good line and length.

I would bowl Doggett next over.

Excellent first session for Australia. The bazballers top four are back in the pavilion. They will need to bat well in the next session, otherwise Australia will be in full control of this match.

Starc bowled well, big wickets, especially Root for a duck, next session could decide the match. England need a partnership if not careful could be all out for less than 200

Pitch has been dissapointing, playing like a day 2 wicket, in saying that it should bring lyon into the game earlier than usual

The wicket looks to be a good batting track, but not a normal day 1 pitch.

England may struggle with the lack of variety in their attack. I think Root will have to bowl a lot.
