It's strange, I look forward to seeing what they do with him next year, we have Mann, Sasagi and Crossland all sharing that 14 role. Maybe the 2 year deal is a good indicator we won't resign Mann at the end of his current deal.
 
I was actually hoping the Tigers would sign Crossland as they were interested in signing him to replace Jock Madden but I had seen on Reddit that Kurt Falls is going there.

Chris Vea'ila, Kobe Rugless, Myles Martin & Tevita Toloi are the development players.

Myles Martin and Tevita Toloi are weird ones as development seeing as though you would assume that Oryn Keeley, Max Bradbury and Paul Bryan would be ahead in pecking order.

Article in the Herald about the Klem/hastings swap says Klem was not required to train today and the squad is off to an out of town survivor style camp this week, and the way it reads is that Hastings will probably join after the camp.
 
I'm not sure we need to replace Klem.

They should be taking him with them... camps are meant to build team work and bonds.
 
Just on Hastings though. Does he deserve to have such a bad rep?

I might be missing something:

Played for Roosters, no issues.

Fallout at Manly with DCE. Wouldn’t be the first, plus I think Baz was in charge then.

Kills it in England. Can only play what’s in front of him…

Issues with Bateman. I don’t think Bateman is a saint either.

On the surface, Hastings sounds like he’s been too big for his boots and has an ego. Probably what we need if true.

& even though i see him as more of a lock or back row (not a front row style lock) Elliott - 125 ""

I think we need to sign another semi experienced prop even if its only for depth considering youll have 4 middle forwards in the lineup each week or 5 if u include Elliott (for example: 8 Saf, 10 Saf, 13 elliott, 15 Hetherington, 16 Croker - Thompson NSW Cup) Not much depth really when the others arent contracted to top squad.
 
I see Tevita Toloi is already back and training in a photo on the Herald site (article about Elliott).

I think Brian McDermott was helping coach Fiji, so maybe he is here as well.

McDermott spent 5 years as a special ops commando in the Royal Marines. It would be a wasted opportunity to go on this "survivor style" camp unless McDermott was here to lead it.

I assume this camp O'Brien has organised in the first full week of training will be modelled on the Melbourne model where they keep the rookies awake for a couple of days and work them beyond exhaustion - but it looks like we'll take the full squad.
 
It would be interesting to see how the young guys are measuring up to the firstgraders in camp.
All those young guys who played Flegg last year look like they have been training hard since Flegg finished. Some of them are hard to recognise because they have changed their body shape so much.
The older guys have had a good, long break and are probably only half as fit as they were mid season.
I reckon the young guys are giving the old guys a run for their money right now.
 
Knights Players all up in Brisbane in the city drinking after there little camp.

Looks like O’Brian wanted some bonding and sent them all out on the ****.
