2019 NRL Season: Finals Week 1 Discussion

Will be cheering on the Raiders and Eels this week, Hopefully the Sharks knock Manly out too !!
 
Parra fans had a great day out.
It won't happen, but how great would it be if they carried over enough of that home ground buzz to beat Melbourne next week?
That would make the finals interesting.
 
parras' win just highlights how crap our club has become...I mean they go from wooden-spooners to kicking arse in a semi-final, what have we ****in' done?
 
Good on the Eels for bouncing back, and it shows how right everyone was that said Hayne is a cancer who shouldn't set foot near an NRL club again after the Titans and now Eels became better without him and worse with him.
That said, That win is a bit of a fool's gold type of win when you look at the opposition, The Broncos have been garbage all year other then sprinkles of decency plus the usual penalty Broncos agenda which gets a token QLD team into the finals after it was clear the Titans and Cowboys weren't making it in.
The Broncos just did a good job of beating up on the crap teams. Similar to the Sharks.

It shouldn't surprise anyone in the least that the Sharks and Broncos were making up the numbers.

Say what you want about Manly but they've played with plenty of heart this year, and Des has showed he can coach. Just needs to learn to adapt and not get found out like he did at the Bulldogs.

Like most here, definately on the Raiders bandwagon. And thank goodness we won't get another Storm/Roosters GF. But that's also the stupid part of our dumb finals system where 1 can play 2 before the GF. Dumb media wanting it and the NRL didn't put any thought and were basically pigeon holed with this crappy system we have now. Ah well.
 
As long as the Storm get knocked out ......

I agree, even though it would be a bit annoying to see a Roosters Storm grand final for the second year in a row, they are 1 & 2, they are the best 2 teams, they shouldn't be facing eachother unless they get to grand final day together.

Catching up on the Broncos news. Several were spotted at a popular Sydney bar playing the pokies till late at night.

Must be tough having to be in the spotlight of Sydney and not being protected by the media like they are in Brisbane but I think the fact that they got flogged makes the situation worse while maybe if I was a supporter of them I'd be more pissed about it.
It's probably a nothing story during the season but Bennett's mates in the media will make sure that doesn't happen and Seibold cops it. But because of what's being written about the Broncos mediocrity it is. Captain Darius probably footed the bill for their pokies tab and told them not to come back till it was all gone or they hit the jackpot hah.
