2019 Jersey Flegg Cup

1st half tries

  • Jack Cameron 2'
  • Gary Anderson 5'
  • Timanu Alexander 17'
  • Dylan Lucas 21'
  • Toby Marks 28'
  • Luke HUTH 31'
  • Toby Marks 34'

Grant Anderson returned from HIA after halftime.
Luke Huth didn't come back out, so Moon would now be at hooker.

54-0 - 23 minutes to go - second try for Timanu Alexander.
Gary Anderson needs a second so our entire 3/4 line will have 2 each.

Luke Huth is on for the last 20 - Timanu Alexander gets an early mark, so I suppose Moon is in the centres now.

The three starting middles - Ticehurst, Cameron and Watene are back on for the last 8 minutes - they were off for a long spell, so they should be fresh.

54-0 fulltime
No tries for the last 24 minutes. Good for Victoria to man up for the last part of the game.

The best part of the game is we got to use a lot of guys who haven't been getting much game time. Baker, Gary Anderson, Sheppard were all having their first for the year, and others like Ma'a, Grant Anderson, Rasiga, Alexander, Ticehurst, Watene etc have only played a few, and since this game was in Victoria, Scotty probably got to take away his fringe players for a weekend camp.

We climb from 7th to 6th after that win, but we are only 2 points off second place with the second best for and against in the comp.
Starting the season with 2 losses wasn't ideal, but they are getting on a roll now.

Cut and paste side from last week except halfback Baydon Searle is out and Cameron Davies gets his first game.
I think Searle might have been the only player to play every game so far, but Dureau showed last year in Ball that he likes to give every player in his squad a chance, and he also uses players in different positions if they have more than one position they can play.
I don't really expect this to be the side on the day.

Timanu Alexander is out, replaced by Jack Smith in number 18.
Team unchanged otherwise.
The team we flogged last game, Thunderbolts, are leading the Warriors with 10 to go - could be their first win of the season.

Knights ex player Brock Gardiner plays against his old team mates for Souths.
Brock should have a big game. He is a very hard working lock forward.

4-0 to the Knights after 5 minutes.
Prop Daniel Ticehurst this week.
Nearly every week we have a prop score in the first few minutes, usually Cameron or Croker.
