Terrible batting display with wickets lost just prior to break, after a great start fell in a heap, will need to bat really well second innings as I expect SA to score 350-400
 
If SA get 350-400 it would be a fantastic batting performance

If we can restrict them to less than 300 we are in the game due to the fact they have to bat last

Kagiso Rabada has been reported with a Level 2 code of conduct breach by the standing umpires after his brush with Steve Smith on day one and now faces being suspended for the rest of the series.

But Rabada is appealing the charge and will have a hearing with match referee Jeff Crowe tonight in Port Elizabeth to contest the intention of his actions.

After taking the wicket of Smith lbw for 25 after lunch, Rabada brushed shoulders with the batsman as he moved to celebrate with his jubilant teammates who were stationed behind the wicket.

The contact drew an immediate response from Smith, who wheeled around to look at Rabada before consulting with non-striker Shaun Marsh about reviewing his dismissal.

While the moment might seem minor on the surface, Rabada has five demerit points on his disciplinary record and the brush with Smith could take him to eight and a two-Test suspension.

A Level 2 breach of the ICC code of conduct brings with it a maximum of a 100 per cent match fee fine and between 3-4 demerit points, which if imposed would men Rabada would be ruled out of the remainder of the Test series.

A B d V batting is still a major threat. They must get him early this evening.

Interesting Graeme Smith and Shaun Pollock were absolutely flabbergasted when Smithy batted. At Port Elizabeth they stated batting is always easier on days two and three when the wicket dries out and gets firmer.

We need to bat well, tail wagged, nearly 400 we need to score that plus some, bat today and most of tomorrow if not all and hope wicket starts to play up

If we can make SA chase 200+ we are in the game, I personally can't see us scoring 350-400 in our second innings though

I don't understand why you have to get right in the batsmans face and scream at him

By all means celebrate the wicket but the way he carries on is ridiculous

South African veteran AB de Villiers says star quick Kagiso Rabada needs to be "smarter" after another fiery wicket celebration on day three of the second Test in Port Elizabeth.

Rabada could find himself in hot water again with the ICC after he claimed the key wicket of opener David Warner early in Australia's second innings and unleashed a passionate roar in the direction of the dismissed batter as they crossed paths mid-pitch.

The latest send-off comes just two days after the 22-year-old brushed shoulders with Australia captain Steve Smith in the first innings – an incident that saw him charged with a Level 2 offence under the ICC Code of Conduct for "inappropriate and deliberate physical contact with a player".

Rabada faced a hearing with match referee Jeff Crowe at St George's Park after play on Sunday and the paceman will need to convince Crowe that the contact was accidental if he is to escape a two-Test ban that would rule him out for the remainder of the series.

Crowe heard Rabada's side of events, with the express paceman understood to have argued that contact with Smith's shoulder was not deliberate.

The hearing spanned almost an hour. Umpire Kumar Dharmasena, Proteas captain Faf du Plessis and team manager Mohammed Moosajee were also present.

Crowe now has 24 hours to arrive at a decision regarding one of Rabada's two send-offs that have marred the ongoing match at St George's Park.

Rabada's disciplinary history

Feb 2017: Inappropriate and deliberate physical contact with Sri Lanka's Niroshan ****wella. Three demerit points and fined 50 per cent of match fee.

July 2017: Used inappropriate language after dismissing England allrounder Ben Stokes. One demerit point and fined 15 per cent of match fee.Suspended one Test.

Feb 2018: Using language which could provoke an aggressive reaction from another player in send-off of India batsman Shikhar Dhawan. One demerit point and fined 15 per cent of match fee.

Mar 2018: Level-two charge for making physical contact with Steve Smith during a spirited send-off. Expected to have argued it was not "deliberate" at a hearing. Later in same Test, screamed in David Warner's face after dismissing the opener on day three. Possibly will be charged.

200 will be a tough chase, 150 more runs gives us a lead of 191 which may be defendable
