If Ponga played more than 20 games he wins it
Can't believe Leilua and Jackson
Ponga will have his time over the next few years. Very similar to JT. Knights win the game and he is polling atleast 2 points in that game despite how well he did or didn’t play.
I thought Brooks was quite solid throughout the year for the Tigers. Just hasn’t got the fan fare like other players.
The Leilua and Jackson selections are mind boggling
Pearce stays fit he wins easily.
Damn shame, Ponga or Pearce just 1 or 2 good games short of being Dally M winners, robbed by injury. At the same time, probably highlights a flaw in the system, it favours the stars in a team that doesn't have many other players polling well.
I felt like if Ponga won, it wouldn’t of felt well deserved.
Can anyone explain how Josh Jackson was awarded second rower of the year ???
The Leilua one is a shocker too
Luke Brooks was good for periods but I'm not sure how he won either
Jazz Tevaga had 1 try assist and 1 linebreak all year and missed 50 tackles in 20 games
Imo Leeson Ah Mau deserved Interchange Player of the Year
For the 5th year straight he averaged 100m+ after playing most of the season off the bench, Made 59 tackle breaks and had a tackle efficiency of 94.5%
I know stats aren't everything and Tevaga plays a different position but for me Leeson is the most damaging bench player in the game
Don't disagree with anything said above re 2nd row and centre
Just wanted to say how good was that haka!
Got me all fired up and I'm not a kiwi
Both participating in that and being on the other side of it must be an awesome experience
Leilua, Jackson, Tevaga? They’ve gotta be yanking our chain.
If Ponga had at least one more game or we had one more win he’d have taken it out, but still fantastic effort for his first full year at fullback and a handful of games missed. Great to see Pearce round out the top 5 as well after missing a huge amount of time, remarkable really.
Looking at our top 5 finishers is a joke. Ese’Ese, Fitzgibbon and Griffin either got 2 points or less.
Do they watch our games or just blindly give Pearce and Ponga points?
That's what I was alluding to with the flaw in the system.
They changed it to whoever has the highest Dally M points now I'm pretty sure? Lots of people complained because they chose the winners instead of awarding whoever had the highest Dally M points in their position. Not gonna make everyone happy.
