This was on NRL Rumors and Updates .......I've been sent a rumour that Blake Ferguson is set to be pushed out of the Sydney Roosters. He has been looking to re-sign for awhile and since that time the Roosters have signed Tedesco and re-signed Gordon & Tupou. All signs are indicating to him moving on next season.... 1Ponga , 2Ross , 3Moga ,4Skd , 5Ferguson That would be an awesome backline if we could get it ...

V/good backline, I say go for it, not a big fan of Fergo but he certainly would add firepower.

If Des gets scrapped bring him in as an assistant so Foran comes to us,
Also I don't think we have ANY chance of picking up Fergo I think the only reason roosters aren't biting is because he is asking for overs will end up at a competitor for the title.

All good brother
Sure the bloke would love to take a set back after what he's had to deal with and he has/had family ties up here so i thought it'd be a possibility.

Also as a forwards coach he could teach our young monsters how to play as a pack.

First post, glad to be here guys.

Excited by the latest developments/rumours:

- Ross extends until 2020

- Wests poised to buy the Knights

- Hodkinson considering a move to Warrington

Good signs ahead?

Brown in the video Q&A says there will be signings, but not what people would consider to be marquee.

I just slumped in my chair reading this.

Well if we put the right players around Ponga, Lamb and Levi in 2-3 years they will be able to tear teams apart I guess.

That's not a weak argument is it ?

Time will tell.

The question was a good one though. Paraphrasing "we were told there would be two years of pain so we could sign marquee players". Doesn't look like it's going to happen for 2018.

Yeah, the war chest is there to attract virtually anyone. Unfortunately, dollars aside, few players want to come to a club without good form.

While 2017 has been a tremendous improvement on 2016 (disregarding the final scorelines) 2018 could indeed be another painful season.

The plan Nathan Brown is following is a work in progress and shouldn't be seen as a total failure. I think replacing him at this stage would be a mistake.

To me being as bad as we are would only be worth it if we play finals in 2018. Anything less a huge fail.

Plenty of ordinary teams have had to rebuild over the years. None have been half as bad at the 2016-17 Knights.

Behind "8" ball to start 2017, Mullens, injuries to Pythian, Kosty, Pauli then later Buhrer, with a little bit better luck, new signings, Ponga, SKD, Guerra and possibly others those close games will become wins and younger players, Lamb, Cogger, Saifiti boys, Stone etc improving we could be much better than this year, so any signings that will improve the squad, if not marquee but 1st grade plus will do me

I've been Browns biggest defender, BUT if someone better can be attracted and that would be a great PR spin for Wests to get a Hasler he needs to be marched or what I think fair offered an assistants gig.

How can you say anything less than making the finals in 2018 is a huge fail just after explaining exactly how poor we have been and still are. How can you expect such a dramatic turn around in one off season?

Because being bad was meant to be to clear out cap space to sign marquee players.

I think Hasler would be able to attract better players at least. Some of his coaching and team selections are highly questionable at the moment though.

I'm not a fan of Hasler, and I don't see him as a compelling enough candidate to justify punting Brown.

He was extremely fortunate to have started with such a strong team at Manly at the height of their run, he didn't build that team from scratch. Can anyone say he left it in a better position than when he started his tenure?

One thing that stands out is the way he conducts himself during matches (I agree he's not the only one). If the coach is carrying on like a pork chop from the box, what does that say to his team about how they are expected to control their emotions on the field?

We saw the mess Bennett left at both the Knights and Saints when he cobbled together teams to buy a premiership without a succession plan. The successful teams build dynasties, the Broncos and Storm particularly.

I truly believe the Knights can achieve something special in the next few years that will see them at the top for a long time. Just need to be patient and trust the process.
