2017/2018 Knights Player signing speculation

Each and every time we wish to sign a player, the Club goes cap in hand to Turdburg, lodges an application and awaits their Royal Hignesses in Phillip Street making a decision. By the time they get off their royal rear ends, the bidding war has bypassed us and players have signed elesewhere.

Said this last night, our biggest issue atm is waiting for the nrl to process it so we can proceed with the signing... but with the time frame its taking the club loses out as the player has a new/bigger/better option turn up and they sign that deal.

Has Gidley asked what's the go given the Gold Coast had no trouble getting players signed.

Someone ask Matt Gidley if the NRL has to approve player contracts. I bet the answer is no.

Gold Coast played finals last year. Might have something to do with it.

Rumor doing the rounds; the Bulldogs are close to signing Josh Dugan. If true, they're definitely going to have to off load some big name players. There's is going to be some more big names coming on the market soon...

Surely they can't b signing all these players they will have no one else left under the cap. That's if any other clubs want the players they are shedding for the cash they are currently paying them.

Lost Reynolds all ready, cap going up $2m+.

They'll let hoppa jnr and liccha walk and maybe move on two of Tolman/kasiano/Eastwood. Can see tigers signing one of those forwards.

I don't know but you guys, but I wouldn't be able to respect my coach after he ***** slapped his captain at the Dragons lol
Maybe that's why he's struggling to attract players?

That's ancient history. Brown is a much more experienced coach now.

Foran Woods Graham Dugan and Klemmer let's say they average out at 800k each that's 4 mill of the 8.5 or so they will have. That would mean the remaining 20 ( I think it is?) would need to be on $225k average pretty tight I'd say Hoppa Morris' Eastwood Mbye Kasiano Tolman would make this almost impossible. If they can only shift a course or the of guys they are miracle workers

Mbye turned down a million to go to titans.

What club makes a bigger mockery of the cap, the dogs with all their signings at the moment, or the broncs.

Yeah if only our club could be professional enough to stand on its own feet and build good relationships with the corporate community to have endless tpa like the other well run professional business football clubs.

Lol, it's cheating 88', the NRL are just useless in policing their own rules.

Anyway, hopefully we can get sold soon so we can cheat the cap also.

The club can't play any role in setting up TPA's so if as you claim the better run clubs have fostered a relationship to elicit TPA deals for players they are cheating the cap. TPA's need to be sourced by the player or his manager.
