I'm just so scared we end up in the aku situation again.... I'll be stoked if he comes and plays to his potential and betters himself in those 3 years, if he comes that is.

Im more worried of Ponga tbh.... kids got huge potential but getting 700k at 19yrs old with very little nrl history is a massive gamble.

Least with bird we know his able to excel with the right players around him in multiple positions

Bird should be a good player in some position.
I think offering him 5/8 is a mistake because we seem to have that covered, but he could be one of our, if not the, best player in our side in a number of positions.

Still like to think we would be better off chasing star front rowers and seeing what our current stock could do behind them rather then have more flashy backs and no grunt up front

Are you for real? One is playmaking and the other catching a cold waiting for the ball.
Bird did remarkable with the amount of tough runs he made with a broken arm and with no fear. Tough as teak and you can't question his effort.
Hunt was missing all game and then the infamous dropped ball off the kick-off in golden point which cost them the game.

I was referring to their attitudes in those games not comparing them as halves.

My point is I'd prefer Bird as value for money as he won't shy away in the bigger games.

Now we're comparing Hunt to Bird, lmao who gives a rats.

The fact of the matter is that Bird will be a good signing if we pull it off and could get the ball rolling in the player market.
