NRL Round 18 - Knights Vs Dolphins - 4:05pm Sunday, 5th of July - McDonald Jones Stadium

I said it in another thread. The range of his performance within a single game is 10/10 moments and 1/10 moments.

He just needs to get some consistency and minimise his errors and he’s very good.
And it is great that more of us are understanding that he is still learning and that inconsistency is part of his game atm.
But boy, I can’t wait to see him play when he reaches around 50 games. He has such raw talent and great instincts.

Might be being abit tough on Friz, but those 2 errors he made in the first half really annoyed me
First one after getting points just dropped a sitter and second one was a terrible offload to get dolphins back into the game
I thought you were referring to our young blokes are ready not degrading Frizz who i think we should keep.

Worth shouting out Lachy Crouch. I think he has a huge future. Watching Chief get emotional celebrating his debut gave me chills. Everyone speaks so highly of him having a long career at the knights. I'm excited to see him and hopgood have a real crack with Mooney for the next little while. But its a great time to more experience and we likely have the foundations of our next gen pack with those three

Sorry, I’m clearly behind on the back story here, but why was Chief getting emotional…? What relation is he….? Or is he just like everyone’s favorite grandad now who cries at any poignant celebration worthy moment? 😂

A win is a win and the team looks like they expect to win, which all good teams do. It's a huge turn around from last years lackluster performances. To come away with wins at State Of Origin time is a big bonus. I still think the team is a work in progress and there are areas that need to be improved, but credit must go to the coaching staff as we have had many positional and player changes in the last month and the team still looks like a cohesive unit.

2 weeks in a row now that Dom has noticeably been positioned at centre on a handful of backline movements with Gagai outside him. He was originally signed as a centre and played his first few games of NSW Cup there for us, and I thought he showed a lot of potential in that role. Was even reported that the Roosters were dangling a centre jersey down the track when he signed there. He hasn’t been mentioned as a possible Gagai replacement but the evidence would show that maybe it's being considered. He’d be by far the highest upside option in attack but would need to earn a lot of trust in defence.

Short video because he only played a few games before being called into first grade but you’d be impressed with representative centres pulling off those flick passes let alone a 19-year old.

He made that young Kiraz kiddy outside him look pretty good!! I remember those days thinking we'd found the ultimate strike centre, fast and someone so big it's almost impossible to stop the pass one on one. @Billy argued he'd be the best winger in the nrl and he's pretty much been right. I thought you were nerfing one of his best attributes. As you say, his defence would have to be shown to be up to it. Exciting to consider.

Was quite a game, excellent first half and then became nail biting in the second. Watched delayed last night before reading all the comments on here, hard to believe some of them giving several players the full winge.
I thought everyone played with effort, some better than others.
Our back 5 all played well, Thought Smith had his moments, yes missed tackles, Brown as usual very good in defence, kicked very well especially the winning field goal. Lost Saf early hope his recovery will not be to long, he will be missed our young props Hopwood and Crouch played very strong, big futures, old man Frizell was his usual strong self, Crossland usual big tackle effort and another great 40/20. McEwen and Lucas were very good, big efforts, Lucas another try. Croker did big effort first half, looked shot when replaced but came back later he continues to impress. Graham and Cant were good of the bench, was best I have seen from Cant.
Was a critical win against a top side

With our awful golden point record over so many years, we’ve been missing that crucial field goal play for so long. Was great to see Brown just cooly slot it, I have to say!
Kind of forget playing behind Moses (who has kicked 9). But until then him, Smith and Crossland who you think would be our go to were all on zero made field goals lol.

With our awful golden point record over so many years
Then you go further back, Ponga (none), Hastings (one but not for the Knights), and Cogger (two), and Gamble (one)

As fans it would be nice for them at any point to slot one as soon as it hits 70 mins (especially after the Crossland 40/20)

As Holbrook noted, Sandon Smith was the first choice but slipped, leaving it to Brown on the next play.

We were a bit spoiled with Mullen and Pearce (9 and 12)
